That is still the 2020 model. I got the first 2021 model delivered to my dealer and it has the new vw badge, a new climate interface and it says GTE across the boot rather than Passat.

It seems to be a 2020 model you have for the review, the 2021 model have an "updated" climate control unit similar to the one in the facelifted Arteon, and the updated flat VW logo on steering wheel, and new placement of the GTE letters on the tailgate.

I tested a Passat GTE this morning. Under rainy weather, I took a roundabout at 40km/h and I almost ended up losing the bas-ck of the car. I tried twice, once accelerating, the second time releasing. According to the dealer that is due to the heavy mass concentrated on the rear of the car. True? Minutes later, I tried the same with my VW Golf, no issues at all..

Am new to the hybrid Phev,will be buying one this month.It is a 2017 model with 50000 miles on it.Its first journey will be app 80 miles,50 of those motorway,,,any tips to recharge as i go along,,, .

If you always charge and never use the petrol motor does the odometer still show all the miles/KMs you have driven? you could have 20K Kilometers on the odometer and the petrol engine could be brand new with no usage. How would you know?

The market is now flooded with Hybrid models just so we can save 1L/100 km and comply with regulations. Just to end up having models that are going to be a hell for maintenance.

So sad this is not sold in North America. I have a Golf Sportwagen that is great, but this size would be even better. Yes, an ID4 would be nice, but this PHEV is a great combo of EV and ICE that would be ideal for many families. The factory in Chattanooga or Puebla should be building these. Foo on you VW. Came in from the right, without any comment. I drive my wife’s GTE in B mode, not had it long so we haven’t figured it all out yet. Need to know if the brake lights come on as it is quite an aggressive regen. Always good review here.

Yes, the brake lights come in after 1 or 2 seconds.

That shouldnt be a problem? In Germany at least. Or which market you think of? In Germany, Passat GTE starts with very nice blue-ish cloth seats

Autogefuel why does all the new plug in cars from the VAG Group use the 1.4l engine and not the newer 1.5l ? - better engine - they already had this power plant from the old Golf GTE and decided that it's good enough - they decided to sale an older model knowing that they are selling giving to the client not the best for the money Thanks and keep up with the great work

I had to take this one instead the Skoda Superb iV (as already sold out for the next two years). The Passat for me is missing any emotion. Not a bad car, but I have never been so unexcited than when getting the GTE. I reach .Max. 40 km on battery...charging is a joke in 4 hours...and what is terrible is the software. The WLAN doesn’t connect to the mobile nor to the home network when in the range at home. I still regret this choice....
