I absolutely love the look of the V60. Such a gorgeous station wagon.

The cloth interior is a big bonus to the looks of the car. I like their patterned cloth too.

The price is right... in Austria you start at 70k Euros list price for the T8 Polestar Engineered....(that is 103k CAD)

Hi Brian. I’m looking at this car and the full Polestar version. I agree with you about this model but at 100K$, it’s within 30K$ of the Panamera Gran Turismo Hybrid. I don’t know.... I’m a Volvo wagon owner and a 911 owner. I find this model more realistic in terms of pricing. What do you think ?

Hi Charles, I think you'd definitely prefer the full Polestar version. It's cooler and it's dynamics are far more compelling. This one isn't bad, but the PE car is much more satisfying to drive.

If it’s not in this episode, it’s in the previous V60 PHEV episode.

christ I love this thing. I'm shopping in the $30s so this is way out of my budget, but if I had unlimited funds, I wouldn't be shopping for $150k Teslas for Taycans; I'd get a V60 Recharge. I'm just really concerned about long-term ownership costs. More complexity directly corelates to more costs, and Volvo has a pretty terrible reputation for things that break which wouldn't have if it had a Japanese badge. ...too bad. This is a sexy wagon. And it's a PHEV with 60km of EV range. And has 462hp. And sends power to all 4 wheels. And has an actual transmission that isn't a rubber band. arhg.

Interior is familiar but has the wool seats which look nice IMO. But Volvo should lose that black gloss on the console. That piano black look is just ruining interiors. I love seeing Volvo's new wagons but it's rare. Too rare. Volvo does look like it may make its next-gen crossovers look like tall wagons. That would be good to see.

so, for me, all these extra electronic recharge costs and weights are not worth it. and i am not just speaking as a jealous american. no, i just feel the cars are getting to damn complicated for the 60 to 100,000 miles they will be used. the repair cost are astronomical and IF, god forbid, you ever get into the slowest of corner crashes, you will be facing 10,000 in cost. i was reading up on the simple repair of a 2010 ford taurua recently, and i wish i could forward the article, but it was absolutely stunning ...the repairs to a crashed front corner. i will, however, take any volvo wagon in its simplest model because they, like volkwagens, simplify their designs and keep them pretty much ageless. and i think ford did well with the newest explorer for this very6 same reason. they are keeping the older models worth a value and allowing them to stay relevant and the new one clean and modern, agressive. these volvos are the same.

All of these plug ins are going to be a bit of an ownership adventure once they’ve got some miles, don’t you think?

It might just be that most of the cars in the future are electric or hybrid. Electric cars are I guess nice and simple, but they also have their limitations.
