Welcome to the 2021 Western Horn Festival Final Concert, Part 2
My name is Jena Gardner and I am the horn professor at Western Illinois University. It has been my pleasure to host this event with collaborators and attendees from all around the globe. This year the WIU Horn Studio is celebrating 20 years of this annual event!
Today’s final concert is presented in two parts: Part two features Andrew Bain performing an unaccompanied recital with works by Strauss, Messiaen, Faust, Krol and Williams.
Andrew Bain was appointed to the Chair of Principal Horn of the Los Angeles Philharmonic by Gustavo Dudamel in May 2011.
Prior to moving to LA Andrew held positions of Principal Horn of the Melbourne Symphony, Queensland Symphony, Münchner Symphoniker and the Australian Opera & Ballet Orchestra.
In addition to performing, Andrew is passionate about education and is proud to be the Horn Professor at the Colburn School Conservatory.
