I ski a 2016 FX SVHO 1.8 L Bone stock First run of the year 6-4-21, inland Tichigan Lake/ Fox River, Waterford Wi. 88 F* , real veal 95 F* 20 mph wind When GPS cuts out on River I achieved 72-74 read on digital odometer, but cuts back to 68-69 when signal is engaged. I hit 71 on mine 2 up , bouncing off the limiter , I got my 2021 in October.. same trim as yours love it, it comes out the hole a bit harder than my 2016 FZR ( last of the two seaters) SVHO .. and the auto trim actually works 2 more hours to go for first service

I think watercraft journal with greenhulk have video comparing the 2018 yamaha fx sho vs sea-doo rxt x 300 and the rxt x 300 have better numbers than 2021 yamaha go 1800 with 3.78 5 to 60 mph complete stock

I have a 2019 gp1800r and the top speed on a cool day w/ almost smooth water is 82 indicated . Higher water jet speed because of the smaller size outlet compared to the newer model?

I have the exact GP you’re riding on order right now from my local dealer... I spoke with the mechanic at that local Yamaha dealer and he said anything above the stock rpm of 7400 will void warranty. However I would hope that he’s wrong and you’re right

I heard bad opinions from people who already purchased Yamaha skis made in 2021 2021 Yamaha ski owners saying that skis built quality very poor compare to previous years. I do believe in this because of the pandemic situation globally and shortage of employees. I also believe that Yamaha skis for 2021 very poor quality because of high demand and rush in manufacturing them. I am unable to get an exact RPM as of right now because I haven’t yet installed a tachometer. The RPMs were below 8000 making it warranty friendly and undetectable by the dealer.

The speedometer still works with the limiter removed and reads higher speeds. We currently plan to modify all the way up to stage 3 and I will be upgrading the valve retainers. I plan to go over 9000 RPMs. Stay tuned for more videos!

@@johnnysierra7432 only with the fx the 70 mph is locked, we have a 2020 gp stage 1+ the gps don’t work but we have a 2021 gp in blue and white with riva stage 1 tune waiting on parts for stage 1+ but with stage 1 tune it shows 80mph at 8000 rpm I believe. On our 2019 stage 2 fx svho it ran 83mph on phone gps but ski shows 70mph. 2019-2021 are the same for fx but different colors every year

In my personal opinion, I would go with the SVHO. Both are great skis but the SVHO will offer quicker acceleration and higher top speeds. If you’re like me and speed is a necessity then the SVHO is the one for you! There is no speed limiter to remove on the HO model because it does not have enough power to go over 68 mph! Top speed on the HO is roughly 63 mph from the factory.

I’ve had the RXT, it’s an incredible machine, but I will admit that I do like the new GP better. I am not a Yamaha or Sea-Doo fan, I love both brands and both have their pros and cons. Once you have the engine warmed up good don’t be afraid to go wide open throttle. Hold full throttle for 15-20 seconds and abruptly let off. Cruise around and vary throttle, not holding any one constant RPM for too long. Hit full throttle every now and then. After about 3 hours or this consider your engine properly broken in. Breaking your engine in by running it HARD is the best way to do it. This helps seat the rings in which you have a short window of opportunity to do so. Weather conditions, water conditions, pump condition, accuracy of your device maybe the larger Trisom plate makes a difference in acceleration or they added some ignition timing what gains a lot on this engine since the oem tune is very much on the conservative side and and and. What I want to say is even if your measurements are correct. There is not much to do to reach this on the old model. Since there is not too much new in terms of performance.
