@@jamaljackson9879 meets EPA and CARB emissions for an offroad vehicle. offroad vehicles need to meet an emissions standard aswell. yzs are a closed course vehicle and exempt from this.

Would have been nice to use the PowerTuner to upgrade the timing with Premium gaz to see how more power you can get. I remove all the restriction on my WR450F 2021 and I give 4 deg more on timing (maximum allow by the app) and i can clearly feel the difference by switching from original map to upgraded map. This bike can give more simply by using the PowerTuner.

Is this test in stock form with epa restrictions? What does it take to un cork these new models. Love to check out new wr450 but dealers in Vegas said they don't know when or if they won't get any . I'm a die hard Yamaha fan I have a 14 wr450 with over 350 hrs

Hi Richard, yes, this test was conducted with the bike in completely stock trim. As far as uncorking it, you can make the WR450F compatible with the Yamaha Power Tuner app to adjust the ECU mapping but you would have to purchase and install a few parts from GYTR including the Communication Control Unit, Competition Kit (ECU), and Map Switch. Links to the three parts are at the bottom of this response for reference. @@dirtridermagazine So the only thing removed from the stock 2021 WR450F was the throttle stop screw, correct?? The bike you threw on the dyno STILL has the pea shooter exhaust insert & the tea kettle restrictor in the intake...the only thing removed was the throttle limiter (throttle stop screw), right?? @@davidkneller303 - Yes sir, that is correct. Our test bike did not come with a throttle stop screw, so we were able to give it full throttle. We also ran it with the stock spark arrestor-type muffler. Everything else was completely standard, as the bike was delivered to us. As far as the best 450 dual sport bike engine, although it's not technically 450cc, the Beta 500 RR-S has lots of power yet is still very controllable. The 430 RR-S is awesome as well.
