2022 - 2024 Honda civic 2 year update

2023 civic sport hatchback 6mt here. Leaking hatchback from day #1, seemed to self resolve. Leaking valve cover discovered in first oil change, bottom of oil pan and subframe coated with oil. Rattling noise from engine during decel 5-4k. Only think I have not had an issue with yet is the steering, however my car only has 3800 miles… doing my best to upload videos of all my issues on my channel. Love your channel man keep it up

50 year old '22 Si owner here with almost 17k miles with (knocks on wood) zero issues. Mine has a mild TSP tune and PRL HV intake. I always use 93 octane and don't beat up on it. I like working on cars so I've done all of the oil changes and replaced the OEM Honda transmission fluid with Amzoil Syncromesh MT fluid. Really love driving this car and with 2 kids, this makes a great daily driver.

Disagree with using the aftermarket transmission fluid. Just because its Amsoil, doesnt mean its better than the OEM fluid. The owners manual specifically mentions to use OEM Honda fluid only. Coolant & transmission fluid should be OEM

2023 2.0L sport, 12000km. Went in for my first oil change and had a leaky CV boot, was warrantied, took an hour. I was on the fence about servicing through Honda since I don’t mind doing maintenance, but I purchased the extended warranty and it’s already been used, I will continue to service at Honda. Make the warranty worth it!

Steering racks have also been a common failure point on these as well. To the extent they were on back order for a few months. Most common symptom would be a notchy feeling in your steering. Usually will be felt at highway speeds while making small steering adjustments when driving perfectly straight. Honda Canada is aware of it, but I don’t think they have a recall or bulletin for it yet. We’ve seen about 10-15 so far at my dealer including one 2023 CRV

2023 Civic Sport sedan owner. Yes that one with the 2.0 NA engine. No problems even after a year of ownership. I have about 10-11k miles on the car total. Couldn’t be happier! I also did get a recall notice but they checked out the car and saw that my power steering rack part was not the one affected so I was good to go. I think I might have felt some tighter steering when I had less miles on the car but it eased up overtime and feels much more comfortable now. Also I do have HondaCare for six years and 120k miles just in case!

Had a 2022 Si with sticky steering (that somehow disappeared). Then got a 2023 Si which had no major issues-it had a weird sound in the vents after turning my heat on. Haven’t tested it out again since it warmed up around here. Also noticed a fart smelling smell coming from the exhaust after backing into a spot. One time my infotainment screen had multiple horizontal lines going through it, but turning it on and off made it go away.

The 2.0L is a port injection engine, so no high pressure fuel pump and no excessive intake carbon deposits from direct injection and PCV. I will be buying one of these with a manual transmission in a couple years.

Its okay to occasionally eat in the car but your not supposed to do it every day such as i suspect the case to be with those people experiencing the problems you described.

Over 40.000 miles on a 2020 Civic Sport Sedan 6 speed with No problems, But of course it has it's second A/C condenser because of a Deer collision, But otherwise been perfect, The K20C2 engine is a beast, In my opinion, If You're nice it to it's Really Great on GAS, I did installed Morimoto xb full led headlights and taillights from don't know 🇺🇸👍😁

One minor issue with my 22 civic 1.5 is the infotainment sometimes takes 5 minutes to completely load causing major lag using apple car play. After it loads it seems smooth, however, sometimes after it loads, the screen graphics start to distort. My guess is the graphics chip gets confused when the load times are long and cannot keep up. it happens around 20% of the time, no big deal, but a little annoying.

Fun Fact: This Civic has almost an identiical wheel design as the 2008 Acura TL Type S. Just a different design in the center of the wheel, and different color scheme

2022 1.5L Touring Trim - 20,000 miles averaging 34mpg over the lifetime of the car, drives amazing as the day it was new. Only modification are winter tires due to Canadian weather, IV protective window tinting, and PPF for the hood. Biggest issues are CREAKS! Both A pillars rattle due to the casing of the airbag rubbing up against a clip for the speaker - had to disassemble and d felt line. Next the B pillar passenger sign has a terrible rattling which has been there since day 1, due to the seatbelt motor / harness rubbing against the frame of the car - makes a clanging. And now roughly 15,000Km in the screen is creaking! plastic on plastic. For the 30,500CAD i paid for the car for my total lease, I am dissapointed with the creaks.

'24 2.0 sport 6 speed owner here. Love the car so far, engine is really great, very eager to rev butter smooth with a nice mid range. Grip is really nice with seemingly endless turn in and always very stable. The handling surprised me the most, second would be the excellent fuel economy. Only problem im having is it often shifts very hard and/or crunchy and even a bit grindy when going into gear. Other times it shifts super smooth. Is this normal for the 6MT to be this way?

This is interesting. I currently own a 20 Civic EX sedan with that same 1.5t that was known for the oil dilution. Now it is known for valve cover issues. I just cracked 25k miles with it and no issues thank goodness. I do enjoy driving it and only use premium fuel. I believe your previous video on the Honda 1.5t is to use premium fuel to prolong or prevent valve cover failure. Luckily the manual says to do it and I have been doing it since

To get good numbers don’t drive over 65 on freeway. When your on the freeway let take your foot off the gas as much as you can. I’m getting 30mpg with my 23 hrv. But that’s with watch the real time mpg bar always on display (Instrument cluster has fuel consumption display)

I still have my 2011 civic coupe and except for the key holders rotting away, have had no other issues. I've been thinking of buying a new civic but I don't like the style of them and the fact that rodents are chewing on the wires is pretty discouraging. I read that in the last 10 years lots of car companies use soy based wiring insulation that rodents enjoy chewing on . Of course they now know this is a big problem but do not cover the cost to the owner.and continue raising prices and using the soy wires. This is all for promoting themselves as being concerned with trhe environment while ruining the environment of your car and costing you a fortune.

22' Civic EX Sedan 1.5T, purchased bran new and now at 27K miles. It had zero issues until a few months ago when the steering wheel got "sticky" so the steering gearbox and EPS module had to be replaced under warranty, Auto Idle Stop did not work, the reason was the faulty battery, also replaced under warranty, and last but not least, rodent damage on the engine harness, replaced but not under warranty.... 😒. Now that I'm at it, can anyone here tell me if the Honda rodent tape really work? Is it worth it?

CVT is manufactured in Mexico. Just saying. Low profile tires lose air ridiculously fast and are not good in snow or rain. Suspension and brakes are a bit noisy going slow in parking lots. Like the car . My 21 Corolla had no issues. The Civic was the cheapest lease I could get. Interest rates jacked alot of leases double. My Honda dealer does give free lifetime drive train warranty . For whatever it's worth. I suspect it has to be maintained meticulously And does not cover electronics.

You bought the right car, but with a cvt? LOL this car has the BEST manual shifter in any car under 100k$, it is bullet proof, fun to drive and as close to perfect as you can get, even better than in the integra or in the 1.5 civics, because no turbo lag, no rev hang, this car with the 2.0 earth dreams motor is the best one to buy, but only when you get the manual shift. I can't believe anyone would buy this car and not get the 6-speed manual. It is so easy to use, even if you have never shifted a manual shift before, you can learn in this car in about 15 minutes, it is fun, simple, and simply the best combo in cars out today.
