I just bought a fat pack from Target and it was just base cards, and only play from my favorite team. And it was my first hockey break.

Upon first glance I love the base design this year. I'd even say it is one of the best they've had recently. The nameplate area is minimal to give more space for the action photo, and the color-matched "ball-of-energy" texture accents the entire card very well with the jersey in the photo. Only tweak I would do is maybe increase the player name font size a point or two, and maybe add the team logo bottom right. The photography is top notch. The backs look crisp as well and makes good use of space (last season there were weird gaps between the player's informational blurb and the footer). Looking forward to grabbing these, especially any Kraken!

Thanks for this! I was debating on grabbing a box. Decided not too. Sticking with hunting bedard. His acetate stars card just sold for $2000! Can't imagine what his exclusives or high gloss would go for. For 90 bucks a box its a pretty fun rip. Not to mention, you're garenteed a acetate card which is dope! Please make a hunting bedard series lol 🙏

The look of the Debut Dates and Rookie Retrospective are an improvement over previous years. I had one Young Gun that had the rough cut like they were cut with a butter knife, but overall the quality seems improved.

Quality control from the 7 boxes I recorded tonight were all pretty good. I enjoy the inserts this year but that dazzler is more of a salmon than pink lol

Purchased three hobby boxes. Pulled two Beniers that at absolute best are PSA 9 quality, but more like 8. None of the other "top 15" except Spence. Love the design of the inserts this year and Free Style is super slick. Like almost everything else in the hobby it's too expensive for what you get (unlike prior boxes that had Caufield/Kaprizov your top YG doesn't even cover the cost of your box) but with that said this is a big improvement on quality and design imo

Base looks good. The font needs to be larger, that's my only complaint. Hit the Case hit Crosby Attacking Zone, pretty happy with that. 1:288 per pack odds. Also, CHL boxes are great value, especially in large quantities. Sell your Bedards now!

Huge improvement design-wise compared to previous years. 👌 The YG design is alright, I would have wanted the bottom part where the text is a bit higher up on the card but not a big deal. The serial numbered cards will decide how bonkers they can go with the overall print run, with what I've seen so far it seems to be around the same as previous year; above 6m but below 8m hobby packs. I think you can get *HOBBY* boxes in a case without any actual hobby content which isn't that exciting thf. 💩☠

Damn UDS1/2 used to always have decent value and a fun chase for YGs. Now with the watered down young guns and just a few noteworthy names, why are we buying this? For the garbage inserts? Just buy the young guns cheap on ebay and save time and money. So disappointed, imo UD has pretty much ruined their flagship product.

Design is dope but holy crap, I think im actually done buying boxes cuz 150 YGs a year is really gonna dilute the potential per box. That with the production count, you will never make your money back or break even with boxes I feel (unless you get a mega hit of course) 150 a year is just too much, they really are gonna scrap the bottom of the barrel to fill 50 with each series.

UD canvas of Andreas Johansson...who hasnt been able to stay in the NHL and he gets a special card?? Some of the young guns are odd choices as well- a 23 yr old fringe AHL defensive dman shouldnt warrant a NHL card just because hes a 'rookie' but card design looks good.
