Thank you Brigitte! You teach with passion, your method resonates with me & your voice is so pleasant! More jingles please♥️💉🩺♥️💉🩺♥️ I've been a nurse for 100yrs, lol. In my career, I've been a CNA instructor & former ACLS instructor. Nursing is a calling. It's not what we do, but who we are. I love my work & can't imagine retiring. I learned in RN school that nursing is a lifetime of learning. We'll never know it all & must keep up with the latest research. In 2wks I'll be testing for ACLS & PALS recertification, so I stopped by to review. I'd like to add that there are mandatory AHA pretests we have to pass just to attend these courses. In the PALS pretest for example, there were 14 multiple choice answers to each of 60 questions= 840!! There is no "fake it til you make it" imo, but in my last role, my nurse manager actually said this many times. Not so much. I believe we must know, understand & internalize so that it's automatic in actual emergencies. God bless you for the time, effort & heart you put into your presentations!⚖️♥️⚖️

My only question so far is the position of the heel of hand when giving cpr. Is it on tue nipple line not the xiphoid process?
@BrigitteNP5 ай бұрын
No, you should not place your hands on the xiphoid process when performing CPR. The xiphoid process is a small, pointed piece of cartilage at the lower end of the sternum (breastbone). Placing your hands on or near the xiphoid process can lead to serious injuries, such as: Fracturing the xiphoid process: This can cause it to detach and potentially puncture internal organs, such as the liver or diaphragm. Ineffective compressions: Hand placement on the xiphoid process doesn't effectively compress the heart, reducing the efficacy of CPR. Correct Hand Placement: For Adults and Children (above 1 year): Place the heel of your hand on the lower half of the sternum, but well above the xiphoid process. The hand should be centered on the chest, aligned with the sternum, and the other hand should be placed on top of the first. For Infants (under 1 year): Use two fingers just below the nipple line, on the center of the chest. Avoid pressing on the xiphoid process. Key Point: Always avoid placing your hands on the xiphoid process during CPR to prevent injury and ensure effective compressions.

Is ACLS accredited?
@BrigitteNP2 жыл бұрын
This review is for the AHA ACLS test. The AHA’s ACLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). Where you take the course depends on whether or not it’s accredited.
