Respectfully and constructively, I am seeing some differences in your video from the BLS new guidelines that I was recently taught. The mid-nipple line placement was changed to placing the palm of the hands over the sternum above the xiphoid process--this change was made due to the rise in obesity. Also, there is a distinction that I didn't see in your video that is for neonates--0-28 days and infants as 28 days to 12 months. Checking the pulse on a child wasn't mentioned and that is carotid or femoral. There was a new stress on early use of a mobile phone if available instead of leaving to get help.

I learned that the placement of the palm of the hand should be 2 inches above the xiphoid process below the mid-nipple line. Therefore, It is basically over the same area on the sternum. I just got a 100 in my test with AHA CPR instructors 😊

I have a questions about the BLS certification. Is it true that American Red Cross does not carry any weight when applying to hospitals ? Should I be looking for a different place ?

There are 25 questions total; you must pass with a score of at least 84%. Your time limit for this exam is one hour.

this may be a dumb question but the video says if there is no way of safely providing breaths (bag mask device / pocket mask) then are we to use mouth to mouth? the video shows a person doing this but the text states to just do hands only CPR

You are correct if you are not in a healthcare setting, for example someone collapses in a public area then you just do CPR. However, since BLS is usually for people in healthcare most of the questions assume you have a bag mask device.

For Adult CPR, the compression-to-breath ratio is 30 compressions to 2 breaths. The primary rescuer performs 30 chest compressions, followed by the secondary rescuer delivering two rescue breaths. Child and Infant CPR ratio for 2 rescuer is 15 compressions to 2 breaths.
