As a Porsche fan without budget, I bought my first VW in 1987, a brand new Scirocco 16V. I’ve had a few GTI since. Now 60, still without the budget for a Porsche but able to upgrade to Audi. Not as sporty as the GTI, but being from Canada, the quattro compensates and I love it so far as much as my GTIs and « almost » as much as my Scirocco. I have a feeling that the S3 would be my perfect car or in my dreams a 992 GT3R…

Nice review, but the volume control next to the gear lever is actually for your passenger to control music :) The driver has the controls on the steering wheel :)

Not a fan of the hidden exhaust, don’t think much people are. But otherwise love the design of the new A3

I just test drove an A3 FWD version and was very impressed . I am considering a 23 A3 FWD with a 18in wheel sport suspension pkg. 38mpg hwy, regular fuel, and is quicker than the numbers reflect ( 201hp/221 torque)....Why? because it also has a new mild hybrid 48 volt battery system which contributes to the acceleration/power. ( this adds 12hp and 37 lb ft of torque upon acceleration for short bursts.....and which is not mentioned in this review). I am looking for a more practical replacement for my 2018 Audi TT Quattro.... I am now retired and in NC and don't feel the need for Quattro. I am also considering a 23 BMW 2 series RWD 2 door w/M Sport pkg, 23 Mercedes CLA250 FWD w/ AMG line sport pkg , and a new MK8 VW GTI.....

about hybrid system, I did not even know the A3 had it :D I have always thought the battery in the fuel consumption was like "saving fuel", not that it was charging / using battery. No mention of it when I bought it, it was when I heard a review talk about mild hybrids I was wondering what it was, and saw my engine has it. But one thing that gets me good mpg is that it turns of 2 cylinders when crusing on the highway!. That was neither mentioned when I bought the car :)

Nice review. No heated steering wheel available on A3, which is mind boggling since it’s available on Golf.

Great review. Love that you just payed attention to the car in front of you and didn't do some 5 minute monolog on the history of the A3 like some videos.

Yes, the premium plus package comes with the interior lighting package.

I like my 2019 A3 s line PP tbh, just because of looks and not having a giant screen as my control center. Happy that they have an A3 for every style though I’d love to go to an Audi meet just to look at some sweet rs’s 😄 Also are you sure that’s the new horsepower ratings? Mine has 228 hp and 258 tq lol

The cupholder and center console bother me. You can't slide the console forward if there is a cup in that first cupholder. So if you and a passenger have drinks, you'll have to ask them to pick up their drink, so you can get to the console. For a car this price, and with a history of cars that don't have that issue, this is such an obvious oversight, that I know there had to have been a conversation about this in the design stage. And I'm very curious how they justified their decision. This alone is something that keeps me from buying a car. No matter how luxurious, how sporty, etc., if there is something that is used daily, that isn't designed well, or is rendered almost useless, I won't be able to drive without always being annoyed at this little thing. Too many other cars have this figured out.

The armrest on the 2023 slides out ( over the cup holder ) but also can slide up and lock at different levels. To get it to go back you lift it fully up and then back down.

If you paused for a second and actually watched the video rather than go straight to the comments to whine, you'd see your "issue"* is shown, *IN THE VIDEO* to not be an issue at 18:24 where both cupholders are clearly visible and usable with the armrest DOWN. "I won't buy this car because I don't understand how the cupholders work." *Issue with the car, not the OCD or similar neurological disorder that makes it so you can't enjoy something because of a tiny flaw (that isn't actually a flaw in this case).
