Love this car and with any luck my next car will have a B58. Too bad about the check engine light. Car and Driver had a long term M340i and had some random electrical issues like active grill shutter failure. German cars have LOTS of sensors and minor electrical components that can be quick to illuminate the check engine light.

Almost 80% of the time behind the wheel of my X5 and M3 I had check something lights. Got tired of it. Cool cars but I don't miss them and the issues/money

Honestly, I’m kind of getting over my quibbles with the looks. I’m just happy the grille isn’t huge lol. And it’s cool that we even have this on the market at all at this point with how coupes sell these days.

I believe, the quattro AWD system is better than from competitors. If I put another one system awd I think the symmetrical AWD from Subaru it can to compare with Quattro AWD.

Actualy at first i kinda hated the look from the back... but the same with the big ass grills they made on the new series (3 and upwards) i NOW kinda really like them... a m440 or m4 with the right spect just looks badass

There is an engine Check light already on instrument panel. 'BMW Certified' Thats why BMW stands for 'Breaking My Wallet' ...... Otherwise, that must be a great driving machine in terms of performance by no doubt.

The Check Engine Light is Turned on by pretty much everything breaking in the car. A Rain Sensor, little electrical things like a door lamp being not rightly connected etc. its really just a myth that bmw's dont have long livability. they are the most reliable Premium Brand. and if you take care of them a bmw can easily last 300k-400k Kilometers without any big repairs.

Anyway the premise of the 2 series is to be even more affordable and lighter weight, but now it blurs the line between it and 4 series. It's too close of a comparison where now I'd just go with a 4 series, because the pros easily outweigh the cons. The only reason would be if you're having to max your monthly payment, but then you probably shouldn't be buying a bmw in the first place.

@@Toymonkeyjr you’re looking at a difference of less than 10 inches and 200 lbs. AWD is irrelevant. Most people get the 4 series because it has better luxury and technology. At the end of the day it’s still an impractical coupe.

now the 2024 forces you into so many "packaged" upgrades like led Headlights, full 360 cameras interior/trim upgrades that youre forced into just to add an M e-dif and brakes/suspension upgrades....to a base 230i...it makes those "options" hitting near 48,000 msrp for a 230i "m package" SMDH. and the brakes/suspensions at that point are purely for "LOOKS" w.o the DIF upgrade in my eyes...smdh. Either buy 'new' and look towards the b58/base m240i....which also needs an e-dif upgrade IMO on top....but again buying new entails the factory/warranty....vs the near 10,000 off im seeing for 2022 and 2023 m packaged 230i in the used market. Guess ill be looking at used m240i's in the time it will take me to save around 2 more years...before i can consider a new 240i. By then i can do some "research" on how to maintain a b58...or which shops to take one into for a pre purchase inspection to check the tune/power engine aspects or even the transmission shifts for any "flaws" or would be abuse XD. Considering. Still near 48k msrp for an m package 230i LMFAO b48 WTF when 2022 starting msrp for a m240i was 48k...and even 2024 model isnt far off the "optioned" out b48. I just might consider a used 2023 for near 30-32k. And just save and sell the 230i towards the 240i when the time comes. Had my eyes on the supra but the limited production/discontinued aspect...has me trying to stay away from something that i would own purely to "retain" value over the course of use/ownership. To me the RWD e-dif equipped b48 and b58 are a hoot of a time. I wonder what the production figures were/if they ever made 6 spd rwd only 240i. IDK from what it appears its something now only the m2 offers. I mean if youre spending that much...at least most ppl....cant really afford that "expensive" of a vehicle that accommodates such little passengers/space. I expect most to be leased/sold used in the next few years as far as M'2s....or ppl owning an M'2 that also own a slew/range of options to which theyll see even less miles/abuse than those leased M2's XD.
