2022 BMW X1 Review | Starting in the Mid-$30,000 Range!

My wife's '22 X1 is almost identical to this one, but doesn't have the LED headlights. Overall nice car that drives well, but the transmission is annoying at low speeds. In normal mode with the auto stop/start turned off, it automatically goes into neutral almost instantly when stopped while in gear. There's a bump as you let your foot off the brake and it drops back into gear. The sport mode on the console doesn't change this operation, but moving shifter into sport mode will allow it to idle in gear. The problem is it runs around about 1000rpm higher than normal mode, and the low speed downshifts are kinda harsh. There's also a lot of driveline slop at low speeds, and the motor mounts seem very loose and are failure prone. All this means that it's a hard car to drive smoothly in stop and go traffic. I do like it, but it should be better.

I love your reviews! It is the weirdest addiction. Do you think adding on the M Sport package is worth it for seat comfort?

Appreciate it! If you wanted the deeper bolsters the M Sport will definitely give you that along with thicker grips on the steering wheel as well. Most comfortable seats are still Lexus F Sport seats IMO tho! :-)

I like the X3 but I simply will NOT own a gasoline powered car ever again so I deposited on the Audi Q4 EV.😉👍🏻
