Lol hats off for not editing that mishap out. You already know we’ve all dropped something in our engine bay before.😂

Let me just say that the customer service from these guys is amazing. Had questions about these hood struts for my 2022 GR86 and got a quick reply from Josh, the owner of the company! He just scored a loyal customer! These guys are great! Thank you!

Thanks Tim! Couldn't have you worrying all weekend :)

I wish they would have done a 2 position strut like the grimspeed ones. On my Forester XT I can pop it to normal height and to vertical (great for doing any work under there).

So despite being super careful, I dropped the wrench down the fender. Opened up the access panel underneath to get it back out (thank you for providing that advice!). Then I thought I was being clever by stuffing the abyss with rags. Only to find after I was done that one rag was missing🤣. Great hood struts, easy install (besides my mistakes).

I'm always astounded you do all this stuff. I'm always afraid after taking things apart that I won't be able to get all of it together!

Great video for installation since the kit came with no instructions. I stuffed a towel in the fender gap area to prevent your experience of losing the bracket down the rabbit hole 😄

On the carbon side of the struts, couldn't you just pull the foam off towards the ends?

I cannot find a wrench that is able to be used in this tight space lmao. Wtf are you guys using?
@ImportImageRacing2 жыл бұрын
It is a tight fit, we just used a short ratcheting 12mm wrench.

@@ImportImageRacing Thanks for the reply! I'm an idiot and didn't watch the video correctly. I tried getting that back nut off too.

How do I remove them I installed one upside down 😂😂😂

So there’s gonna be 2 washers between bolt and bracket correct? The original, and the black one?
@ImportImageRacing2 жыл бұрын
You can remove the original and install the black one or you can run both. It should be okay either way we Installed with oem washer only on our shop car as well with no issues!

@@ImportImageRacing how did you end up clipping them so easily? Im giving it all i got and they wont go in
@ImportImageRacing2 жыл бұрын
@@skunkiiee7333 if they are hard to clip in try adding more grease. But they should pop right on.

@@boostsaibot i guess hold on to it while it opens

Why would anyone waste money on this??? Spend money on a performance part/s!!! How many time a month, week, day do you open the hood???

Hey there, these are great for people who love to show off their engine bay at car shows, and for quick checks of fluids or your air filter!
