The air filter you showed is not for the engine, but for the transmission. As far as the brakes, I just drove a Ryker 100 miles and in my opinion it had very weak brakes. I've never drove any motorcycle with such weak brakes. I had to leave plenty of space between me and the vehicles in front of me. I am in hopes the pads will wear in and get better. The 2022 model I just brought did not have floor boards, but pegs. Still a blast to ride.
@leeridefar Жыл бұрын
Gene. Thanks for the correct info about the air filter. It may be worth checking out your Ryker. I do get new units every year and braking has never been a problem with them. The physics of the two wheels up front and the strong brakes make it stop quickly.

I’m still on the fence on getting one of these. I like the ride and looks and I’m not worried about screaming down the hwy. I think my biggest issue is cost. Now, since I only rode around a parking lot do I need a special training course? Great video
@leeridefar2 жыл бұрын
BRP Can Am subsidizes the training cost to get more riders into it. Check out what your options are locally. The repetition of course puts it into muscle memory. Ask the school if they’ll take you on the road too. If not it is manageable to do it on your own. Just practice what’s on the video.

Unless you are referring the to angle those floorboards can be adjusted without tools. The left side lifts just like the original pegs. The right dos too but you have to push the brake pedal slightly to the left for clearance. Once you lift the floorboards to the "vertical" position they slide back and forth.

Thank you. They are difficult to move.

There are a few fundamental changes that could be made but I guess that would eat into the 900 and Spyder Markets. Like you've indicated LED lights should at least be standard though - that magnet port thing should have a cover on in - or better yet just get rid if it altogether its not the security feature its touted to be - handle bar guards, bigger floorboards, led lights, a handbrake instead of just a foot brake, sway bar upgrade, maybe shocks... the 600 is okay if you want to keep it stock, but considering the upgrades to make it better you might as well look at the 900 or a Spyder anyway?
@leeridefar Жыл бұрын
If you start with the 600 and want a few things it can go from $15k to $30k real quick!

Yes. The size of the Riker and the spider make it a good candidate for a good electric motor and battery. It should work very well.

Just did the math on the mpg based on what you said (20 liters will give you about 200 kilometers) which translated means 5.28 gallons will give you 125 miles. If you are right about this then it actually sucks big time because you would be getting only about 23-24mpg. I get better gas mileage out of my VW CC R-line!!!

You did say was I missing anything, yes you forgot to mention that these breakdown all the time with the VSS code. And that it is a nightmare to find a good mechanic that can figure out what is wrong mine's been in the shop four times they are finally figuring out that the bushings are the problem, or maybe a wiring harness they are not sure! My problems are not isolated there are many videos and records of problems with these units think twice before you buy one!

I am glad you mentioned this. I’ve been teaching on Can-Am Ryker’s for three years and have not had this issue at all. None of my students have said anything about it either. So I will start to ask some questions. If there’s more evidence of it I will mention it in my Can-Am Ryker 900 review

Been thinking of getting either a 600 or 900. I think you said the 600 doesn't handle highway speeds very well. I've seen other videos where the riders say it handles 75 and 80 pretty well depending on the weight of the rider. I watched a guy who said he was 235 get it up to almost 90 mph. Do you find that to not be true? What speed does the 600 start to struggle in your experience?
@leeridefar2 жыл бұрын
It’s not that it struggles but now you’re at the upper range of RPMs and your fuel mileage will be awful. Long sustained rides on the highway is better done on the 900.
@leeridefar2 жыл бұрын
The 600 and 900 are fine at higher speeds but it is tiring. The three wheels grip the ground very good and it’s harder to hold on. A little bump on the highway can really move you around.

Correct. On the highway at 70mph/120kmh the gas mileage is not good. The 900cc engine is better for highway fuel mileage.
