I love the idea of you pulling over on the freeway or something, right when you hit 600 miles, and doing all this maintenance. 🤣

Good video. I too am moving to a '22 or '23 CBR1000RR from an R1. Honda reliability (like Yamaha), power (like Yamaha) and silkiness (unlike Yamaha) are legendary. I do my own service and mods but can do without the tedious skin removal process. In this day and age we should be able to remove the skin without tools and worrying about losing a plastic rivet or screw. After all, these are the most expensive pieces of plastic you will ever buy. I might suggest eye protection next time while cleaning the chain. Those chain cleaners are terribly toxic. I learned that the hard way. And yes, Honda engineers, bring back the oil sight glass. Subscribed.

Yeah removing the plastics is the most tedious part but I enjoy being out in the garage working on the bike so it’s hard to complain :) Thanks for the sub! The quick shifter just arrived today so I’m hoping to get the next video up this weekend. I’ll take your advice on wearing eye protection next time I clean the chain. You’re right, the clean is real nasty stuff.

Word of warning, never tighten the oil filter via the hex nut. Heard many stories of people doing it and stressing the spot weld for it to come apart releasing oil just were your rear tyre needs to be if riding at the time. I have the 06 blade.

I forgot to mention it in the video but I always get the filter hand tight. On this bike the oil filter is right next to the oil cooler so I couldn’t get my fingers around to tighten. I used a wrench but ensured I did not get it too tight. Good call out though.

Better to be a lil low on oil than too much.....beautiful bike man I just use WD-40 on my chain....an ex pro MX rider told me that's all they do and they were sponsored by chain lube Co, lol.....WD-40 cleans and leaves slight film for lube...after awhile it cleans all old grease from factory off and I just give it a squirt every 2 rides and wipe it down with rag after I let it sit for minute......never had problem in MX and so far my street bike has been the same......it also displaces water which is good.....even a silicone spray would be good I imagine

Yeah the oil window nice, but when your by yourself, sitting on the bike you can reach down and check the dipstick, with the window you need someone to hold the bike upright to check.

I can check the oil sight glass fine standing the bike up and leaning down next to it, it's not that hard

Cool video. I’m thinking about getting a 23 R1 or CBR1000RR. How do you feel about the CBR10000RR now that you’ve had it for a year compared to the R1. How does fit, quality finish compare between Yamaha and Honda?

You would have saved more money on the OEM filter. Unless you like having that hex nut on it.

A soon you put the bike on the rear stand you fine you don't need do straps for oil change maybe if you load the bike into the truck yes 😉

Hah yeah it may be a little excessive but I actually take the bike off of the rear stand to adjust the chain so the straps were more for that.

this bike come from factory with quickshifter on it? im getting conflicting answers everywhere. Some people and videos say it does come factory, others say its an optional thing you have to get installed.
@cjrides7073
@cjrides7073 2 жыл бұрын
The CBR1000RR does not come with a quick shifter. However, Honda does make one and there’s a plug for it on the bike and it’s built into the software. I actually just installed one and I am getting ready to release a video on it.
