I just ordered a 2022, 2500HD, Silverado, LTZ with the 6.6 ltr gas engine yesterday, and they assured me it will have the wireless phone charger. It's listed on the options page as coming with the vehicle also. Course this is America not Canada, but that'll be the first thing I check when I get it now. 6 to 10 weeks for delivery they're saying. Also, I ordered the Red Hot color and asked about getting it with the bumpers color matched, and they said only the white and the Midnight/Black out edition have color matched bumpers. Red you get chrome, period.
@WesternGMDrumheller3 жыл бұрын
Hey William I appreciate the comment! Most sales people use a program call AutoBook not GM GlobalConnect Order Workbench that the manager uses to build the actual vehicle. This system is used by all GM Dealers and I can see that option code (K4C - Wireless Charging) isn't on any trim level other than HighCountry however we were told in Canada that even that trim level wouldn't actually have it and it will get a $40 invoice credit for missing content. So I would double check that with your dealer as I'd hate for you to be dissapointed. Also I can assure that if your ordering a 2022 Chev Silverado 2500HD LTZ Crew 4x4 in G7C - Red Hot if you add option code (WEA - Z71 Sport Edition approx $2300) it GETS painted to match bumpers my friend not chrome and yes its still RED HOT!! Go back to the dealer and get it updated my friend ps I take all forms of payments LOL JK, cheers!

Love the videos! Quick question..You have reviewed a lot of vehicles. What would you say is the best riding most comfortable 3/4 ton pickup truck? I'm leaning towards the Silverado 2500HD, but I don't have the opportunity to drive all the brand names. Thank you in advance.
@WesternGMDrumheller Жыл бұрын
Hey I appreciate the question. If you checkout our videos you know me, Brad, I'm not a Kool Aid drinker and each brand has advantages and honestly they are very close these days in price, performance, fuel economy and safety. The real differences between the HD trucks are build quality, overall reliability, exterior features, interior comfort/features/technology and lastly ride quality. GM is the only HD truck to offer you an independent front suspension instead of the traditional solid front axles found on FORD/RAM. This will give you a much more comfortable ride. Also GM is the only HD truck to offer you AUTO 4x4 in an HD Truck which is a game changer in winter conditions. FORD/RAM only offer 2WD, 4X4HI, 4X4LOW on HD's no auto. Another big advantage to regular driveability is the AUTOMATIC LOCKING G80 rear differential on the GM HD's that locks both rear wheels together when one of them over spins while in 2WD!!

@WesternGMDrumheller3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree Ken. I can assure you that even though I work at a Chev Buick GMC Dealership this KZbin thing is a fun passion project of mine I'm not paid to do this and its not a promo video talking about GM's are the best I've often ended my videos with, "you have to come and drive one if you’re in the market". If you never go drive a Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger or a Chev Colorado and you buy a Jeep Gladiator you didn't do yourself any favors. Now if you did and you preferred the Ford Ranger but the DEAL was too good to pass up on the Jeep Gladiator then your an informed buyer. I like to provide assistance to others as these vehicles are only getting more expensive and great salesmen are a thing of the past. I jest sometimes but I love many many other trucks and SUVs that GM don't make. The internet is full of Fan boys that can only see the brand of vehicle they drive as the best and everything else is junk...I'm not one of them!

With the 2500 series, does the Z71 package give it more harsh/stiffer ride on the highway?
@WesternGMDrumheller3 жыл бұрын
Great question and the answer is yes slightly as the factory shocks are a mono tube and the Z71 pkg adds a dual tube Rancho which is better in off road/harsh driving conditions but isn't as good on the highway. Great detailed review. Can you explain the "lowered GVWR, 10,000 lbs." on the gas 2500HD 4x4? I'm borderline between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton as far as load capacity needs. I'd rather get the 2500HD if I can minimize ride harshness. Does the lowered GVWR have lighter/lower capacity rear springs or is it just a legal designation for insurance and licensing? I am aware the "Heavy Duty Front Spring/Camper Package" will make for a rougher ride if you don't need it.
@WesternGMDrumheller3 жыл бұрын
Its just a legal designation to seperate the capabilities the new 2500's from the older 3500's on the road as these 3500's which require yearly goverment inspections are close to the capabilities of the newer 2500's and don't require inspections. As for the "Heavy Duty Front Spring/Camper Package" will give you a stiffer ride.
@dantimber3 жыл бұрын
@@WesternGMDrumheller Thanks. I've researched this extensively and could never find the answer. Just to be clear are you saying the real leafs don't change with the different GVWR rating options?
@WesternGMDrumheller3 жыл бұрын
@@dantimberThe leafs on the 1500's are lighter than the 2500's and the 3500's are heavier than the 2500's. The difference between 1500 and 2500 is everything is thicker and heavier including the frame, brake pads, rotors, suspension etc. They don't use aluminum on the HD's either whereas everything on the 1/2 tons that are bolt on like doors and the hood are aluminum.
@dantimber3 жыл бұрын
@@WesternGMDrumheller My apologies. My question was inaccurate. Are the rear leaf springs on the 2500 all the same regardless of the GVWR? There are 5 choices ranging from 10,000 pounds to 11,350. Thanks again
@WesternGMDrumheller3 жыл бұрын
@@dantimber When I go into GM Order Workbench to build a 2022 SIlverado 2500HD Crew 4x4 it defaults to the 6.6L GAS and a GVWR of 10,450lbs with All Season Tires. If you add the 6.6L DIESEL you get a GVWR of 11,150lbs with All Seaon Tires. If you add A/T (All Terrain Tires) to either the GAS or DIESEL you get an increase of 200lbs to your GVWR from the factory so the door jam sticker will be updated to 10,650lbs and 11,350lbs. When it comes to rear suspension I can confirm that GM has 3 different (springs/rear) setups in the 2500's they are called (8AM,9AM) default, (8AR,9AR) has double overload & (8AP,9AP) has triple overload. I don't know what trucks they come on at all but I would think the default is for the Gas, the second is for Diesels and the third is if you add the snow plow pkg. I got this from our guys in parts.

Hey Edward, I'm not sure if you have been drinking enough or too much with this comment lol. But GM stands for General Motors and General Motors aka GM build and sell BOTH GMC and Chevy Trucks which are not overpriced in the truck market I'll explain why below. If you go look at an equivalent featured Half ton from GMC / CHEV / FORD / RAM / TOYOTA / NISSAN they are all nearly the same MSRP sir. Advertised discounts and finance rates change from month to month but when these truck companies are spending MILLIONS and MILLIONS of DOLLARS on R&D you can't have a RAM truck that’s got the exact same features of a CHEV / GMC / FORD / TOYOTA but said RAM costs $20k less.
