I inherited my Mother’s 95 Corolla in 2010. It sat and was used as an emergency car til about 2015 when my Ford died suddenly. Made the Corolla my main car since my work was only a 15 mile commute round trip. Still going strong. Just recently replaced some ORIGINAL (95)parts. Radiator, rear shocks, alternator. When I had my mechanic change transmission fluid recently at 165k miles he said he was stunned. Showed the fluid Pan and all. Said fluid was like brand new and all the parts were clean and shiny. Asked why I had it done so soon? I’m like you’ve worked on my car for the last 5 years. As long as I had the car (2010) I’ve never had it changed. He just shook his head. 😂

Give the Corolla Hybrid AWD-e. You'll sell more of them.
@lykoszero3 жыл бұрын
What is that and why would it make it better?
@MrLM0023 жыл бұрын
@@lykoszero It's AWD provided by a little electric motor driving the rear wheels. For the Prius AWD-e I'm pretty sure its a 7hp motor that is on all the time from 0-6 MPH and kicks on as needed from 7-43 MPH. So it helps you get going and kicks on as needed. for a couple MPG hit at worst with a sub $1500 cost increase there's almost no reason to not get AWD-e as an option, it'll certainly have a lower depreciation rate than the FWD only models. According to Toyota engineers it would be very easy to give the Corolla hybrid AWD-e as it and the Prius are built off the same platform and I imagine they could build an AWD-e Corolla hybrid using mostly off the shelf parts. In my neck of the woods there are many roads that in the winter legally require you to have AWD/4WD with snow tires or that you put on chains. Chains are highly likely to damage your car and they force you to stay under 30 MPH which limits your momentum, which when going uphill in the snow and ice is quite vital to not getting stuck. So for me any daily driver has to have AWD or 4WD and the ability to mount snow tires. So that's why they should add AWD-e to the Corolla Hybrid
