I didn't even know the 2022 hayabusa had a hill braking mode until I purchased the bike. I was pulling into the driveway and stopped to open the garage and when I was pulling into the garage the bike had locked the brakes automatically and I was freaking out. Quick Google and boom I disabled that sh1t...! Besides that I'm loving it!

Hill assist only works when the bike is in 1st, and the clutch is pulled. On BMWs the hill assist can be activated while just resting on a hill in neutral, which is nice if you want to be hands free for a bit. I really like it and wish it worked the same way on my Busa. It’s like cruise control, but when you’re stopped on an incline. It works if you’re pointed downhill too.

You could use the rear brake and still be hands free on a hill stopped in neutral. I kind of see hill assist being useful for someone that is really short or maybe with a leg injury or something along those lines, for me personally it's always turned off.

Agreed with you on the Hill Hold until I got my Tiger 1200. Now I find it most useful when stopping at lights which are on a slope as I cam put the brake on and free my hands up rather than holding the brake for minutes at a time. So it's not all together useless :)

Yeah, I imagine you are right and it's not 100% useless. You can also use the rear brake to free up hands. I could see it particularly usefull for someone with a right leg injury or some issue with their right leg same thing with the linked brakes useful if you have issues using the rear brake on it's on.

Hill assist is useful in a parking garage where the exit/barrier are uphill (which is quite often the case in Europe).

A lot of electronics, most of which most peeps will set once then leave alone. On a manual car for hill starts, use the handbrake / a.k.a. e-brake!

I have seen hill assist be useful for short folks, I also saw a dude using it recently and he told me he'd shattered his right ankle so it made it easier, but yeah, kind of a very small subset is it useful for. Really cool overview man.....I need this bike :'( But yeah that was actually an excellent way to run through screens and deserved a video like that to explain it all! :)

Hill hold is nice for when you stop a light or something and wanna touch your phone screen real quick with your right hand. Or you could just put the bike in neutral and use the rear brake then you have both hands free. lol

Hill Control is really helpful where I live in San Francisco. The traffic is crazy and many times I have to stop on steep slopes. Especially when im are tired from long rides and on my way home. On top if that im only 5'7"

Man that dash looks insane, can already see some guys coming up with some groovy LED colour scheme changes 🤘 it looks a great bit of kit, not too hard to use, lots to play with, a very modern technology advanced bike 🤘 About the hill start in a manual car, why would you need your heel on the brake pedal? I just use my handbrake, find the biting point, release the handbrake and you’re off. I think we’re more use to doing it in the UK as most our car are manual as opposed to automatic 🤔

Many manual cars in the US don't always have a hand brake. What we refer to as the emergency brake is more often a pedal on the floor to the left of the clutch pedal. Pickup trucks with bench seats for example don't have hand brakes. Your right though if you have a hand brake no reason to heel the brake pedal.

Hi regarding the engine brake setting. The EB:off means total off. 1-3 is increase in the engine braking power? When downshifting gears in the highway i prefer not to have the engine braking effect. I got confused over the internet saying the other way round.

Hi bud from South Africa 🇿🇦 What setting should I use if I want to do very mild power wheelies? eg, if I want the front wheel to come up just a few cm off the ground, when opening the throttle and then I want the wheel to come down. Hard to say but I would start with LF control set to the maximum (10) and slowly back it down until you feel it's where you want it. If you are launching from a stand still there is also launch control settings which I didn't cover in this video. Probably will make a separate video on the road just for launch control.

@@MonkeyButtRides lift control on 10 engages at maybe 60% of throttle opening (nowhere close to lift) completely killing power and acceleration. Honestly it does not react to lift, but is more like gear sensitive power mode . Will not kill power in higher gears - only in lower.

@@MonkeyButtRides you could be right with 1-3. Actually when i think about it - it reacts to acceleration. The display even has the acceleration / deceleration indicator. Once you exceed certain G -" lift" control kicks in.

@@MonkeyButtRides I figured out the speed limiter....get the bike moving first, pull over, hit cruise control then the mode button until cruise control icon changes from green to white. You can then select a speed from 25mph - 120mph, once selected set then hold press mode until white icon flashes. Done ✔️

Sluggish as in moving gear 1? I have issue like the engine is not smooth when moving off and later on I found out it's the TC settings is at TC10. I adjust the TC to the lowest TC5-TC1 and it's back to smooth engine.

Do i understand this part correctly- A B and C modes are pre-selected modes with their own settings programmed already whereas PW 1, 2, and 3 are just for changing the power? Yes and no. The A, B and C modes are presets you can choose from. U1, U2 and U3 are programmable modes that you can save. I think "U" stands for "User". In each user mode you can set how much traction control, lift, power and engine braking you want. You can also change these values in the A, B and C but I assume (haven't tried) that you can't save changes to A, B and C which is what the U1-3 modes are for.

I've watched multiple videos of yours on the Hayabusa. I resisted the urge the first couple videos but I just can't help myself. You sure do like to complain and nitpick. The hill assist is awesome. The Chrome strip is awesome. The exhaust looks good, yes it's heavy because they had to make euro 5 modifications to the exhaust for a 1340 cc sport bike motor. Not being able to remember what three different colors of shift lights stand for??? You should probably stop smoking that dope because it obviously is affecting your memory. Also it's pretty obvious what they are meant for. First light is casual shift, second light sporty, third racing. Couldn't make it through not one of your videos and I'm super excited about buying this bike and have watched hours upon hours of content. This being the only content that had so much nitpicking. I'm guessing since you take so much time to make this content you want people to watch it. Maybe ask yourself as your editing, do I sound like a picky, nagging house wife right now? If the answers even maybe, you probably do.

Thanks for the comment and I hope you enjoy your new Hayabusa. It is a good bike. I hope you don't have the quick shifter issues many of us busa riders have experienced. So you want to watch videos that do nothing but praise the bike you just bought? I call out things I don't like and I'm honest about it. Have you ever spun a lap around any track ever in your life? The shift light is dumb and I stand by that. Casual shift, light sporty and racing? Your kidding right? I could see hill assist being useful if my right ankle or leg was broken. My right foot is my hill assist. Just press the brake pedal, it's not hard?? Hill assist is dumb. The speed limit feature is incredible hard to use and yes, dumb. Seriously I do hope you enjoy your new Busa but I will never stop calling out dumb when I see it. I have almost 15k on mine thus far. Ridden to the Dragon in Tennessee and the PCH in Cali. Aside from the Quick shifter problems I love my Busa, especially since I"ve replaced the exhaust and vinyl wrapped the chrome strip. Again thanks for watching and commenting.

So my 2022 occasionally seems to "slip" the clutch when I hit the quick shifter between gears. What is the reasoning for that, and what must I adjust to eliminate that? Is it the traction control kicking in? Is it the quickshifter setting? It drives me nuts when it does this......

I believe it's a bug in the Hayabusa's software I experience it as well and I've heard many other's complain about the same thing. I think the "lag" or "slip" that we feel is the computer not the clutch. I've tried both QS settings, I run TC off all the time, and it still does it to me. I also have the Moore Mafia flash so that doesn't fix it either. Short of a huge cost and getting an aftermarket ECU I just don't know of any solution to the problem. I am surprised Suzuki hasn't released a software update to fix it maybe it's both software and mechanical. IDK.

He also told me they recommend running the QS2 setting with their tune. Not feeling good about this at all.......I do appreciate the fact it isn't just me. Come on Suzuki.....unacceptable!!!

@@MonkeyButtRides Okay, I spoke with Chris Moore today and this is his reply, word for word; "It needs to be on setting 2 after the flash (QS). A lot of the shifting issues are also caused by the lift control. If all the lift control and tc are completely off we don't have any issues with them." I do remember you saying you were deathly afraid of wheelies and you changed the setting to 10. If setting 1 is intrusive, I can only imagine how much setting 10 would mess with your shifts. Hope this helps both of us!!

I will double check my lift control setting but I believe it's at 0 and always have been, I also always run TC off which is why the light is on all the time in my videos. I will double check and give it another go though. I think this might be worthy of a video TBH.

Suzuki manual has contradicting words and graph. The words say throttle mode 2 is only more gentle up to half throttle. But the graph clearly shows throttle mode 2 is more gentle throughout the whole range, and only matches mode 1 right at max throttle. From riding the bike I would say the graph is right, and throttle mode 2 is more gentle all over especially low and mid throttle position. Actually I just hate throttle mode 2, it makes the bike feel "watered down" or sluggish.

Yes, you are correct. I decided to stick with the words, sounds like I chose wrong. For me personally I just run mode 1 all the time. I don't ever want less power.

@@MonkeyButtRides ... Yeah throttle mode 1 is great, if someone is familiar with a high powered sport bike then you want full power and snappy throttle response. Throttle mode 2 just feels wimpy like; "hey! Whats wrong with my bike?" But I guess a beginner rider might like mode 2 until they get used to the bike. 🙂

Hey man the Hill assist is actually pretty helpful on a steep stop light when you have a passenger on the back. But I can see where you wouldn’t really need it either. I guess users preference more less. With the LF control off does it feel like the bike wants to wheelie a lot easier off the line??? Thanks

Another good use case for hill assist is riding with an injury or handicap. It's cool that Suzuki gives the rider so much control over the electronics. It's not that bad launching with no LF control, on a good launch you want the front tire off the ground an inch or two.
