There are a lot of improvements versus my 2021. I absolutely love the rear side rails on yours. Dual-side steering is a huge deal too, especially with the sail kit.

Ohhhhhh; my bad. I just noticed this review is for the Outback (mine is a Compass).

The elastic tie down at 4:29 you are referring to is for holding the pedal drive back to keep the fins up while you paddle in skinning water. I dont believe its for keeping storage down hence the big hook at the end of the cord there.

New Sub. Great review. I just picked up my 2022 Outback last 4 days ago. I like it better than the 2021 PA12 360° just on the weight alone. Definitely a faster yak but now I got to get used to the turning radius. Also, my rod holders are different than yours. Mine have covers on just the molded body cutout. Keep the videos coming. Great Job.

Yes, the maneuverability in and out of the water alone makes it worth it. The Mirage doesn't really lack anything from the PA other than some storage. Which I think the Mirage has plenty. I appreciate it, I'll keep them rolling out

Hi. Great video. I have one question. I dont know which reel to buy so i hope you can help me decide between 2019 Daiwa certate lt, 2021 daiwa saltist mq or shimano twin power SW...i need it for something in between jigging and spinning. I want to have a quality reel which will last a long time. I really hope you can help me. Thank you!

Does your ff get in the way when you paddle being that close to you? I have the same yak, color and all but a 2021. Nice vid.
@ScottMikles2 жыл бұрын
When I'm paddling I will position it differently. It's definitely close to the paddle stroke.

Did you put those plastic rings around your rod holders? My 22 came with a water tight lid over them
@ScottMikles2 жыл бұрын
No, they came like that. They are actual inserts with bars for rod butts in them. Not formed in the hull.
@lomax78192 жыл бұрын
I just got a '22 delivered this week and it also has molded in rod holders and not the nice inserts like @Dialed In Angling got. I'm a bit bummed b/c the molded inserts aren't very deep.

@@lomax7819 When I bought it the dealer explained that was a new feature for the 22'. And it's a certified Hobie dealer. It's odd they aren't all the same. I wonder if yours is in fact a 22'...
@lomax78192 жыл бұрын
@@ScottMikles I did some digging online and it seems that Hobie had a bunch of '21 model hulls still left over so they used those up before going to the new hulls with rod holder inserts. Really disappointing to learn this considering the premium price we pay for these yaks...

@@lomax7819 That's what I assumed happened. I don't blame you for being disappointed, not cool if you bought a "2022".

The brand is Radsportz. I bought them on Amazon. They've been great. Sturdy with quality pads.

Hi is the Hobie outback is a good kayak for saltwater fishing and also is it easy to flip
@ScottMikles2 жыл бұрын
It is phenomenal for saltwater fishing. It is very stable. They don't flip easily at all.

@@ScottMikles okay so the mirage outback is better then the pro angler 14
@ScottMikles2 жыл бұрын
@@edgars00789 it's 20lbs lighter and more maneuverable. The pro angler is more difficult to launch and take out of the water. Some of it comes down to personal preference but the pros and cons when comparing lead me to believe the mirage outback is better. It does everything I need it to while still being comfortable and manageable.

I’m getting a hobby myself this year. I’m looking at the new but if I do find a great deal on Facebook or craigslist it will make the difference. Good luck and I just subscribed to you. I also have a channel. Opa outdoorsman

Great choice as far as a hobby. One of the benefits to getting the newest year in this model is they thickened any weak points in the hull. You won't regret going with a Hobie either way. Thanks for subscribing, I'll check your channel out.
