Go for the YZ it’s more beginner friendly and you can change the mapping of it and go faster or slower. It’s also better for track and trails it’s overall a better bike safety wise👍🏽

I went from a slightly modded 19' Honda to a 21' Yami, already ordered a 22' Crf. Have to shift more on yamaha, yes it has meat but it runs out quick, my Honda i could hold 3rd gear to the next turn, it revved and kept on pulling, yzf flattens out up top. And the Honda will out corner the yami everywhere on the track, and thats the 19, the 22 will be even better. Suspension isnt much better if at all from the 19' Honda. Yami is a good bike but imo, Honda pulls longer, more flickable, and i had more fun on red. Held a 3 digit National # Currently a 45+ Vet A rider

It’s now been 4 months and I was wondering now that you probably have the new 22, does your opinion here still stand? My main thing is I like a wider bike feel and and really nervous to get a 22 honda because of how thin they are and I would hate to buy one and not like how it feels width wise on the track. I currently ride a 17 ktm 125 which is thin to begin with and after riding a Yamaha at a test day i fell in love but honda always has my heart. If you have any thoughts on width feel please let me know because it’s the only reason why I’m debating on getting a yam over honda.

@@meta.5848 Im in New England we are just getting rid of the snow now.. haven't ridden it yet but sitting on it i like it.. and its also 8 pounds lighter than yamaha which is the biggest thing for me. I can tell how much lighter just rolling it up the ramp loading it.

@@robkeller8008 My bad forgot about snow 😂 but yeah I’ve been watching a lot of videos comparing them and honestly wish I was made of money and could buy both but most people say that it would fit my type of riding style a lot better. So I most likely will end up getting the new Honda I just hope it isn’t to skinny for me. Thanks for the reply. Have a good day.

I appreciate bringing the opinion of Michael, cause he’s like most of us (weekend warriors). I can never relate to the Pro’s who have a lot of experience and team behind them to dial the bike to every situation. I ride 2017 Yamaha yz450f and don’t need the need for a new bike, it’s all the bike I need. Riding style deserts racing and some Baja. I would like too see more reviews of average riders. The GYTR is a great addition to this bikes.

Dungey , Martin's, Oldenberg, Miller, William's, Wentland, Loberg just a few of the fast mn. kids he raced with or tried to. it's been fun watching there talents bring them. I dont miss a Saturday night watch qualifying all day. Its the only sport I watch so sick of the woke football babies I'll never watch a game again. Supercross better never go woke. @@brianloeffler2245 very proud of him, he’s only 17 an he worked his ass off all summer an bought his own truck also, it’s so cool watching him turn into a young man just like I was, plus he is still in school an is graduating this year, he juggles a lot for a 17 yr old on top of moto, somehow he finds time to make it to the gym 4 days a week! One thing is, moto based kids either got their heads on rite or they don’t! My daughter wants to start racing too, she’s at all the races with our whole family an she really likes her pitbike but she also said next year she wants to try the 65 class out! So that means all 5 of them will hopefully be doing it! I need to make a KZbin channel I think we would kill it on there cuz we are alway into something, weather it’s prepping bikes for the weekend or building stuff on our little farm or prepping their pitbike track in our yard so they can have friends over an have fun! I think it would do pretty good!!!

The. 2t sound in the background is the best, hands down. Good knowledgeable break down by all the testers, very impressed, def should get more women like, that’ll channel, she knows her stuff. I still don’t understand why manufacturers don’t do what Kawi does and have a 2 position foot peg, position, adjustment, (I know they probably saving costs), but it’s 22 and not all pegs fit into round holes, seems a major weakness on the Yamaha, big bike small cockpit.

Dude, I was 315lbs when I purchased a new 2016 Yamaha YZ250FX to start riding again...don't let your weight stop you - cause trust me, these bikes will pull us big guys around like we're middle school kids (especially with engine work/upgrades). :) I hope the best for you bro! May you purchase and build the dirt bike of your dreams! Go get a Yamaha YZ250F with GYTR Engine kit and you'll be the fastest kid in town and people will wonder why your 250F is blasting past their 450s. ;) Just gotta get seat time and the fitness will come with your desire to ride harder, longer, faster, smarter etc. -Riding is the only thing keeping me on track with health & fitness, and I'm now 240lbs. You got this in the bag, bud. It will be the best decision of your life!!! 💪 👍 👌

Thank for the great video. I'm loving the way the 22 Honda turns with SAG set at 103.5 but what I can't seem to find is a good feel over breaking bumps (my suspension (Enzo) with a few extra bits valved for a B rider with springs for my weight). Whether it's decelerating or attacking I feel like it's dancing and sending way to much pogo feel up my arms. Thoughts?

That Honda sure seemed to be bouncing around a lot seeing you said that it was good for that track. The Yamaha seemed more balanced which I also see at local tracks. I hear the Honda still is nervous up front or twitchy like it has been known for. Also quit saying the Yamaha feels so big cause like other test riders on other forums have said they have measured and there really is no difference. They think it’s a sight thing cause ppl see no gas cap and makes it look bigger. Yet when you look at ppl with their legs out their foot is just as close to the front wheel. She said she hopped off a Kawasaki and the Honda feels the same with that said I’ve hopped off the Yamaha to the Kawasaki and didn’t feel any difference. My friends said the same. Also I really don’t understand how your test riders are getting engine braking on the Yamaha. Don’t know what map you are using but my friends sure don’t have that problem also that bike turns on everything and is amazing at doing everything. I have a 450 but that 250 is definitely fun and fast. My son has a yz250 which had over 160hrs before rebuild in the motor and the valves still within their specs. Close to 200hrs as of now.

@@dekancaine lol.. funny I’m an A rider and the Yamaha is just fine and has better power than the Honda and will last a lot longer too. Considering I’ve had Honda.. so your statement is very laughable...ppl that ride hard and put the work in. 😂 that’s hilarious. Tell that to teams that ride other bikes like they don’t ride hard and put in the work. What a comedian!

@@bradymxr4659 I have to admit, the only four stroke moto bike I've ever ridden was a YZ 426. I kinda was on the fence about it, because I rode open class two strokes. I would still to this day rather ride a two stroke. I would love to try a late model 4 stroke on a moto track now. By the way, I never had a chance to ride a 250 four stroke. I had no faith after seeing Stewart smoke Reed at Unadilla!!!! But after the AMA said no more leaded gas in 2006, the writing was on the wall.

@@bradymxr4659 I think it's preference. I grew up on yamahas, after years I bought a Honda and thought I'd lost my abilities til I jumped back on a yamaha again. There's no substitute to yamaha handling.

Kawasaki suck.. always has, Kawasakis are good but the stock suspension is complete garbage. I'd rather ride a Honda I like Yamaha I don't know I just want a bike with the suspension system that doesn't throw me off and run through the track without throwing me off and you're not going to get that from a Kawasaki or Yamaha. Honda is 😂 a little bit better but none of them can perform out of the box they all need suspension work to get go around the track
