I went from a slightly modded 19' Honda to a 21' Yami, already ordered a 22' Crf. Have to shift more on yamaha, yes it has meat but it runs out quick, my Honda i could hold 3rd gear to the next turn, it revved and kept on pulling, yzf flattens out up top. And the Honda will out corner the yami everywhere on the track, and thats the 19, the 22 will be even better. Suspension isnt much better if at all from the 19' Honda. Yami is a good bike but imo, Honda pulls longer, more flickable, and i had more fun on red. Held a 3 digit National # Currently a 45+ Vet A rider

It’s now been 4 months and I was wondering now that you probably have the new 22, does your opinion here still stand? My main thing is I like a wider bike feel and and really nervous to get a 22 honda because of how thin they are and I would hate to buy one and not like how it feels width wise on the track. I currently ride a 17 ktm 125 which is thin to begin with and after riding a Yamaha at a test day i fell in love but honda always has my heart. If you have any thoughts on width feel please let me know because it’s the only reason why I’m debating on getting a yam over honda.

I hear the Honda still is nervous up front or twitchy like it has been known for. Also quit saying the Yamaha feels so big cause like other test riders on other forums have said they have measured and there really is no difference. They think it’s a sight thing cause ppl see no gas cap and makes it look bigger. Yet when you look at ppl with their legs out their foot is just as close to the front wheel. She said she hopped off a Kawasaki and the Honda feels the same with that said I’ve hopped off the Yamaha to the Kawasaki and didn’t feel any difference. My friends said the same. Also I really don’t understand how your test riders are getting engine braking on the Yamaha. Don’t know what map you are using but my friends sure don’t have that problem also that bike turns on everything and is amazing at doing everything. I have a 450 but that 250 is definitely fun and fast. My son has a yz250 which had over 160hrs before rebuild in the motor and the valves still within their specs. Close to 200hrs as of now.
