You may be asking yourself, why would you put a bike with less than 15hp on a dyno but we're asking, why not?! Is this new generation a true improvement over the previous 2 generations? Stick around to find out!

Bart and the team take the brand new 2022 Honda Grom to our WORX dyno shop to see how much power the new 125cc can lay down in stock trim, and it shows some true potential. We discuss the results and give you a few hints of what our future plans hold for the TST Grom and what projects we are working on to give a boost to those baseline numbers.

One the coolest things since around 2015 is the mod parts available for smaller bikes that normally would get looked over. If you love ❤️ motorcycles, then you love them all, big, small, lost liter etc. The problem before with smaller bikes were the parts that were available from off the wall vendors was the cheap quality of the parts and the aesthetics were lacking, with TST you get the best of both worlds a trifecta of quality, aesthetics and price point that really can’t be matched. The functionality and plug and play nature of the mostly all their product line, really picks up where the manufacturers didn’t see a market. The videos are that extra added bonus too. I have several friends that would never attempt mods on their own, but with the video, it is doable for the most part, of course there are some mods that TST will caution you is best for a seasoned mechanic to perform. Keep the videos coming!

I’ve gotten my 2023 Grom up to 67 mph down hill - No mods.
@SCFPV

I've gotten my fairly stock 2022 Grom up to 73mph on flat level ground, but only because I have a 40t rear sprocket and a 14t front sprocket, and it's got my speedometer all out of wack. The true speed was 63 mph, according to my GPS. 😂 I've got three different sized front and rear sprockets, and I've put them on in every possible combination, but the only thing I've managed to do is slow it down even more. Other than the aftermarket sprockets and exhaust, It's a stock 2022 Grom SP. The 16t front and 40t rear makes all the gears more usable, and the bike doesn't have to redline to maintain 55/60mph. The loss of off-the-line power is almost negligible, but makes wheelies a little tougher to pull off. The 14t front with 40t rear gives you back the pulling power, but at the cost of bouncing off the limiter in every gear to keep with the flow of traffic.

Hello all, I was wondering why do they dyno the bike while shifting gears. Aren't you supposed to pick a gear and go full throttle from low rpm until the rev limiter?
@TSTindustries
@TSTindustries Жыл бұрын
There are many ways to test a bike on the dyno. A dynamomenter is a condition simulating tool with a sensor pack that enables the user to perform various measurements during the simulation. Some tests require going through gears.

Is the MPH correct. Or is it falsely high coz there's no wind and lack of friction on front tire?
@TSTindustries
@TSTindustries Жыл бұрын
On the Dyno you don't experience front wheel friction, but more importantly there is no aerodynamic drag. On one of our groms with stock engine I am able to customarily get to 74 indicated mph on the road. Downhill with tail wind I can hit 76.

@TSTindustries
@TSTindustries 3 жыл бұрын
The speed read from the dyno drum is pretty accurate. It doesn't rely on satellite technology like gps speed. Then you have indicated speed from the dash. A littlebit of simple math gives you the error

@TSTindustries
@TSTindustries 3 жыл бұрын
It depends on how much faster are you wanting to go beyond 70ish? Depending on your riding conditions (wind, road condition, elevation, etc...) I would imagine you can hit 70-75. We will be releasing a *true* top-speed video in the coming weeks showing different results on a road, not a dyno.

Need my grom to go 70 mph. It's brand new, has 18 miles on the odometer, got it 10/29/2021. What can I do to make it go 70+ ? That way I can take it on highway (short distances).
@TSTindustries
@TSTindustries 2 жыл бұрын
I have had ours to 74mph in a draft behind a vehicle. All that is done to that particular Grom is Yosh exhaust. It is my contention that these bikes are not meant for highway use at these speeds but having freedom means you do what you will. So, i would say if you want to do 70+ constantly then you get the intake and exhaust breathing easier. And tune bike to those parameters. Then go down one tooth on the rear sprocket so that you aren't taching stratosphere when at 70 mph. That will be enough for the conditions you are inquiring about
@TSTindustries
@TSTindustries 2 жыл бұрын
...oh , maybe break it in a bit before trying to hit 70+

Wow 78 mph the old one would barley do 50-55 with mod the new one should hit 100 mph for a 125 that fast. i wound how fast it will be with a bbk. Krazy on how much a 10 HP motor can go this fast when most 300-400cc do that kinda speeds. my lawn mower 7hp if it had 10hp my grass would be done in no time flat.lol 🤔👍👌✌️🏍️💯🥂

It's not gonna go 80 on the road, there is no wind, elevation, and very little friction on a dino. The new one will still probably go 60-65 with mods tho.

Lol no usnless you could take wind out of the equation
@TSTindustries
@TSTindustries 3 жыл бұрын
No man....there is no wind on the dyno. Wind resistance actually cuts into the speed quite a bit. And there is the load the bike is carrying too. A 150 lb. person will have less mass load on the bike than say 220 lb. person, but on the dyno the bike just experiences the inertia of the drum.
