Finally a car journalist who is right about the gearbox, which is actually not a gearbox, but more a clutch that couples the engine with the wheels with a fixed ratio at higher speeds. This is indeed not a CVT, the motor makes high revs when accelerating because it has to supply instant power (via the second electric motor/generator) for the electric drive motor, and is not coupled to the wheels at that moment.

Thanks for the reply. Nope nothing to do with leased or owned. They are discouraging the changing of the OEM rims as it will affect the regenerative aspects of charging the hybrid battery etc.

I have one of these on order, the sensor for the foot opening tailgate is being removed, as is the premium audio system for deliveries after August, down specing has begun due to component shortages... Obviously I'm not happy as the audio system was the reason I opted for top-spec

Had a test drive in one of these last week, the car was great, what I wanted, except for that bloody engine noise (and the panicky lane warnings). If they could just do something about the noise.

FWIW I have just taken delivery of an HR-V, having had a Civic for about 15 years. Although the body *shape* is obviously different, the plan dimensions are virtually the same. I know this, because it goes into the garage in a almost identical position. (Actually, it is about 40mm longer). 🙂

Take a look at the Jazz Crossstar. It‘s a fantastic Urban Cruiser with enough space for Cargo and drives like a dream…

@@glennkennedy441 ok, that is sad. I‘m a Honda fan. I would by a used Fit or the last gen HRV. Here in Germany I drove both. We never get an AWD with the 1.8L here. That is a great Car….

@@CarObsession I mean, after you purchase the car, are you allowed to change the rims to something else? I ask because my local Honda Dealership indicated that you must keep the rims that you got with the vehicle. So I was hoping you may have something on that.
