That's a very in depth review of the car, very nice, the model looks good imho. Very stylish outside and inside. Don't know about the engine combination though, it's more the relaxed cruising than a sporty driving experience I guess.. The boot looks spacious. but the numbers indicated by Honda in liters don't show that, 335 liters don't seem like a lot, the boot space of my Kia Picanto, a very small car, is indicated with 255 liters, but it's tiny compared to what the HR-V's boot looks like. I guess car makers have very different ways to measure boot space. I guess, test driving it and testing how much luggage you really get into it is recommended before buying. The magic seats are brilliant, I know them from the Jazz.

@Twilight-cl3zc2 жыл бұрын
It is very similar, it's out already in parts of the world and all these new Hondas follow a design pattern, similar to what Mazda did. So the City, Jazz' Civic, CRV & HRV all follow a design pattern. Slightly less so the Jazz but you can see it in the rear even if the front lights are slightly more square than slanted.

Nice video and car. I'm a Kia Niro owner, my 3rd Kia hybrid and I'm used to regularly achieving over 60mpg for at least 3 seasons in the UK. I don't hang about with my driving, but I am experienced in hybrid squeeze/ease driving and appreciate that many Niro drivers don't achieve my level of economy. I'm seeing a lot of 52mpg figures around these HRV videos, yet on a test drive on mixed roads, in quite warm conditions, including dual carriageway, I achieved over 70mpg, which really surprised the Honda sales man. Can any of the experienced HRV drivers confirm I would be able to achieve 60+mpg on a regular basis please, if I were to switch from my 74K mileage Niro to an HRV. For me, there is too much piano black in the new Niro model, resulting in too much reflection flickering, which I really don't like. I also prefer the drive shift of the HRV over the swivel-thing in the Niro. The Niro is very comfortable for my dodgy back, however I found the HRV front seat very comfortable on the test drive. Please tell me I can cancel the auto lights !! I'm looking forwards to some helpful input, thanks

I can answer that because car dealers want to sell you the crap they have in stock before even showing you the latest models 😏
@mariand.10872 жыл бұрын
A video online can be found that explains the transmission on these Honda hybrids. It's not a CVT, that's just simply wrong advertising by Honda and I think it actually hurts them marketing it this way. The petrol engine only produces 107 HP BUT in Hybrid mode it's not actually driving the car, rather only spinning up the generator (2'nd electric engine) which then sends power to the 130 HP main electric engine. So in EV and Hybrid mode, ONLY the main electric is the one that drives the car using a single gear direct drive transmission. Then, during Engine Drive (supposedly over 100 km/h) the main electric disengages & the petrol engine is now engaged to drive the car, using a secondary clutch and an "over-drive" aka a second gear for the car. So TLDR it's not a CVT by any means, the variations in the petrol's RPM usage are only there to spin up the generator faster which in turn delivers power to the main electric. Pretty nifty system (albeit not very efficient) and looks to be a rather bulletproof transmission overall.

I like the front design, even though it looks like those painted grill slats are just asking for rock chips. The vehicle looks weird as it tapers to the back, however, so has an awkward, stiff, over-elevated look that goes along with the odd looking hatch slope. Rear design looks okay. Alloy wheel design is fugly & adolescent looking. Eye of the beholder, I guess. That's my 2 cents worth.
