@@1999zrx1100 Check out T-Rex for crash guards and skid plate to protect the undercarriage exhaust. I have them and installed them in an easy afternoon. They have a rack too but it's kind of overpowering on the Monkey, I think a smaller chrome one would look better.

Good news, previous gen accessories fit on the new 2022. Upgraded from the 2019 to the 2022. Ohlins shocks, Yosh RS-3 fit with no issue.

How did the gears and power feel different? what colours did you have, I don't like the 2022 colour scheme except the black because it goes with the frames they painted all black..

@@CrustyBiker the engine is a little smoother and one extra gear. Power is about the same. The differences are minor. The biggest difference is maintenance (oil change). The 2022 has an oil filter cartridge vs an internal spinner. To access the spinner on older models, you must remove the clutch cover. It’s much easier to change the oil on the 22. I’m a big fan of the banana yellow. Typically not a fan of yellow vehicles, but like it on the monkey.

THANKS. I am waiting around 3 months for mine and still waiting. I am not positive that it will ever come so the only accessories that I purchased were cheap ones such as handlebar clip on's (Compass, Thermometer, Clock and Camera mount). Back rack only after I actually get it. I don't plan on spending over $500 on a louder muffler even if 1 hp gain. I favor QUIET bikes. My DRZ 400 had a super hard seat like a 2 by 4. The Monkey seat will be like a pillow and my A#S will love it !

3.59 gas, Holy COW! I miss the days of 1.75 gas and mean tweets. Very nice video of your monkey, my wife is from Sioux Falls and has been telling me about the black mountains of SD. Awesome looking little town, what is the name of it? I would love to have the blue 2022 with the European tail lights but unfortunately not available here in the U.S.

I saw a review of the Monkey and the owner said the mirrors are just about useless. About the only thing he could see was his arms. What do you think of them? $3.59 gas. Today I paid $100.00 for 24.7 gallons! $4.05/gal here in upstate NY.

Funny you should mention the mirrors. I'd have to agree, for me only about half the mirror is useful as they don't stick out far enough. Honda could have made them stick out another inch or two further and they would have been fine. The cool thing about the monkey is the fuel economy...my first fill up I averaged over 100mpg!

You can buy risers for the mirrors, I had to and now they are useful. They are around 30 bucks if I remember, longer shifter was a must also. Love my '21 in blue

So are the RPM levels lower at 50mph, now? With the 5speed. Glad it's got real oil filter now. Liked the frame being color matched, 2018-2021. Rear shocks are supposed to be better too!

This is my first monkey so I do not have an older 4 speed model to compare it to as far as RPM levels go. I will say for the price point of this bike the suspension (and seat) are great! much better than I expected out of the bike.

I own and drive a 2022 monkey and can compare it to a 2019 model, a local monkey club member owns. He drove it on several tours we did in last autumn. We are about the same height, but I weigh about 20 kg plus. He mentioned that his rear wheel needs new shocks because of the bad springs that nearly cant handle bad roads. My new model has improved shocks, I can't complain, they're doing the job well. I don't need to change these, can spent my money for other goodies like an exhaust or an improved chain for example 😇

@@spydie... you're right. As I don't have a revcounter, it's impossible to compare the rpms at topspeed driving the 5 with the 4 gear version. But my 5th gear is some kind of an overdrive, the rpms are lower than before at every speed in 4th gear. That was the main reason for honda to install an overdrive gear. The gear ratio diagram of the 22 modell shows slightly different ratios in every gear, compared to the 21 modell or earlier versions with 4 gears. I can't show them here, just google and you'll see. My buddy therefore changed his front sprocket to one more tooth, to use the engine power for more topspeed...

@@derhiob8493 I forgot there is not Tachometer on these bikes. I'm guessing that 5th gear is the same as 4th gear on the pre-2022 bikes as the bike doesn't have enough power for an overdrive. That means the gear ratios are closer which is better for power and acceleration and off-road use. Hopefully first gear is a little lower but without a rev counter we'll never know. I put an electronic $20 rev counter on my CT125.
