I have a 2018 Pioneer deluxe 1000-5. I listed it to see what i would get a few months ago. I was offered $500 less then what i paid for it in 2018. I use it to plant food plots and work around the farm. It's awesome.! I decided to keep it...even after what I was offered.

Honda needs to step it up and make the Pioneer into an RMAX. I feel like the Pioneer engine is great, but the suspension still sucks. Would be really interesting to see a shoot out between this and the RMAX. I'd like to get a second SxS and this machine is still on my list. Thanks for the video!

@@BarnStangz I have, a friend of mine owns an Rmax 1000, and I own a Pioneer 1000 Trail. I'll stick with my Honda and not have to worry where and when I can get my machine serviced. Yamaha dealerships are a joke with how few there are these days.

@@tommygunss4576 Yeah, I feel like it's pretty hard, in general to find a good dealer that you can trust for service work. The RMAX is a great machine and honestly can do a lot more than the Pioneer Trail if you're pushing it hard in the woods. I guess it all depends on what you do with the machine. There is no way in a hell you could run a Pioneer like I do in the woods, they just couldn't keep up, suspension wise. I'm not dogging the Pioneer, for a pretty much, mostly utility machine, it's a good one! On a side note, my RMAX has been VERY reliable and for the most part, easy to work on. Changing the oil in it kind of sucks, but now that I've done it a few times it has become easier.

Went into my local Honda dealer to look at ATVs and was told there is a huge wait on Quads and the dealer tried to sell me one of these instead. He failed to convince me.

@@UTVonDemand this isn't evident by the abundance of stock. I mean absence of stock. I've only seen one 1000-5 and one 1000-6 at the local dealer in the past 5-6 months.

10" suspension when every other manu is at 15" kinda explains the poor ride quality & low GC, at least they've finally lately entered the 21st century with a diff lock. I'm sure some farmers will find it useful.

Sorry, Honda. Sold my (underpowered) Pioneer 700-4 and bought a Yamaha Wolverine 850 X2. Although my Pioneer was a reliable machine, refinements and power updates are needed in this competitive market. The only thing I have left that's Honda is my lawn mower. No more Honda.
