Needs AWD. Would be a WRX and Golf R killer + distribute power evenly without all the wheel hop. Also would do well in snowy states and mountains where AWD is necessarily (I live in Utah) and turbos combat power loss at altitude. Honda seems like the only manufacturer who has 300hp FWD down without causing major imbalance issues.

Where is the AWD? It is having traction issues being 2WD. How stupid having this be 2WD. Very BAD choice from Hyundai. I had money down on one and pulled it because it is 2WD. AWD is $1,400. IF ONLY Hyundai had any form of foresight.
@trialbygaming45883 жыл бұрын
Way too many downsides. Cost, manufacturing, reliability hit, and the fact that the N brand is just not proven yet, you and I might be willing to pay the price but any others start seeing the price tag and start wandering to other more proven brands.
@tedtedness1843 жыл бұрын
@@trialbygaming4588 Way to many upsides. It is just a simpleton AWD upgrade for $1,400 all the engineering is done with other models, let allow the Kona sub models.The N brand is already proven. We have 3 years of proof. IT is just plain and simple a stupid move on Hyundai's part. The Kona N in AWD would be bumping up on cult status. Not to mention pulling from Golf R owners, there would be new Subaru WRX would be buyers and some Audi S3 owner trickled in there too. NOW you have a lifted for no good reason car that is crippled by it's high roll center. Every good tester states it. Hyundai "botched" the Kona N and too many people you who have never driven a AWD performance car are clueless to their advantages in so many areas. What you lose in weight you gain in a far better balanced car.
@trialbygaming45883 жыл бұрын
@@tedtedness184 I owned a WRX. In most scenarios I get the use case, I just don't think hyundai new if the price would scare customers, it's always been the value proposition, and I agree it's the aquiles heel, but with that said no one else in the CUV market offers this level of performance unless you refer to the luxury brands.
