The trunk opens with a button at the top of the "H" logo. Also, why does no one talk about the wrap around light bar for the tail lights....kind of a huge design feature.

The fuel mileage rating is compelling, as is the price. Right now I'm torn between this, the Maverick hybrid, and the RAV hybrid. But which everv I choose will be for daily use as well as road trips. Cost of ownership is my biggest concern.

Thanks for mentioning that strange sound the hybrid makes when going slow to no speed. I just drove a 2022 Ioniq and had the same thing. That may be a deal breaker. The salesman said it may be a safety feature to remind that the car is on.

Its odd since its in the Sonata but I didnt hear that same noise in any of the Teslas at low speeds. They do make a noise but a different noise.
@JL1042 жыл бұрын
@@CristianMendoza1 I have heard a lot of hybrid cars sometimes include noise in order to alert pedestrians since it can be dangerous for them to not notice hybrids going slow speed. But who knows.
@CristianMendoza12 жыл бұрын
@@JL104 That is true. All new electric cars after a certain point must now emit sound when driving and a certain lower speed. So owners should expect it.

Did you try long drive on it? How much mileage on a single gas tank?
@CristianMendoza13 жыл бұрын
I didn't attempt a long drive but the 50 city/ 54 highway was doable if you don't speed too much. In theory with the 13.2 gallon tank, that would be 660 miles of range. I found myself averaging about 45-52 mpg for my drives.

I'm torn between this and the Honda Insight. Do you know offhand how they contrast ?
@CristianMendoza12 жыл бұрын
Haven't got my hands on a Honda Insight yet but I do see a little more cargo space in Sonata Hybrid, 16 cubic feet over 14.7 cubic feet. Sonata has 191 hp. 181 tq, over the Insight having 151 hp 99 tq. About the same mpg. As for looks, its up to you. As for the second row, I see more leg room in the Honda Insight. I feel their pretty similar on paper. If you have the time, I'd check both out at respective dealers. But neither has a strong lead over the other so you can't go wrong with either option.

Yes, looks like you can use the button near the logo to open the trunk. The key must have not been reading by the car when I was trying it so I left it out. But let me add a message in the video. Thanks!

Any quick pointers on a comparison difference to a New Honda Accord Hybrid? I’ve been going back and forth haha
@CristianMendoza12 жыл бұрын
Great question. Well I'll compare it to the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid for $27,320. Price: about the same Sonata SEL: $27,750 Accord: $27,320 Efficiency: you get that little but more in the Sonata Sonata: 50 city/54 hwy/52 combined Accord: 48 city/47 hwy/47 combined Power: about the same Sonata: 192 hp Accord: 212 hp Trunk space: about the same again Sonata: 16 cubic feet Accord: 16.7 cubic feet Screen size: identical Sonata: 8 inch Accord: 8 inch Android Auto & Apple CarPlay: Both have the wired version for Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Back seat space: Though there's numbers from the manufacture but sitting in both, the Accord felt more spacious in the back. So overall, very similar models so I can see why you wanted a quick comparison. If you wanted a little bit more efficieny, go for the Sonata Hybrid Blue Edition. If you plan on having the back seats used here and there, you'll have more space for back passengers in the Accord Hybrid. If you have time of course, get a feel for driving both but if not, you can't go wrong with either. If it was up to me, I'd trade off the little bit of efficiency for the rear space as I normally use my back seats. Quick note, I'm comparing the Sonata Hybrid Blue Edition and the Accord Hybrid. If you opt for higher end model, from either Honda or Hyundai, your mpg drops a bit, and of course your price goes up. I apologize for the long comment haha but I didn't want to miss anything.

How far can you go on just the battery part before it goes to gas?
@CristianMendoza12 жыл бұрын
This one is a hybrid model where the battery is too small to go full electric. So it would be zero miles on full electric. But its continously aiding the engine to give it the high mpg.

I’m gonna get a 2022 model in a trim with a sunroof because I need that to replace my 2015 Kia K5 that was hit and totaled (I loved that car) but my long commute 64 mile round trip commute in my Tahoe is killing me at 16-18.5 mpg. Thanks for the review hermano, much appreciated! Do you think I can get what I need under $35k which is my budget? I’m in the northern VA area outside “The Swamp”.
