This is by far the best POV I've ever seen, showing many features of the car + sporty driving and launch control while driving and that bit of rolling down the window is a nice touch (which gives us an idea about insulation) and a little bit of rain was the cherry on top 🍒

@@desimoruyesok9135 I feel you. Nissan sales model is low-end cars get the fancy tech (Altima & Rouge) while Infiniti gets luxurious material and standard comfort features like heat & vent seats. The tech appears dated because they don’t want the cheesy tech look of the lower brands. Think about it...It took them 3 years to put Apple CarPlay in the Infiniti lineup. Also, I feel like they left this car out of the partnership with BMW because it would compete with the X4.

the Infiniti bashing is completely justified. they had great cars in the past, like the g35/g37, with V6, manual gearboxes and RWD. even the FX37 was a great crossover. then it all went downhill around 2014-2015.

@@donj1277 Lexus interiors are much better than this and it’s a fair comparison. The QX55 is outdated in today’s standards and isn’t up to par when it comes to Luxury. I think of it as a premium brand, like some parts of Mazda.

I actually like how this looks unique and distinctive without going overboard and trying too hard, and I don’t take as much offense to that interior as some people do. The VC Turbo tech is pretty cool, too. But from a dynamic perspective, I really wish this delivered the RWD fun of Infiniti’s of yore. Infiniti had a huuuuuuuuge opportunity to pick up the ball that BMW dropped in the early 2010’s, but they kinda squandered that opportunity, sadly :( Wouldn’t be my personal choice in this segment, but I don’t think it deserves as harsh the criticism as it gets.

The infotainment center and gauge cluster are so “long in the tooth.” And I don’t know why they gave it the troublesome Jatco CVT transmission when most of the 2022 Nissan models now have a 9 speed transmission. The backup camera resolution is terrible. It is powered by an innovative turbocharged four-cylinder engine that uses variable compression-called VC-Turbo, or VC-T for short. Read this analysis to better understand how it works. The engine makes 268 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque and pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) that directs power to either the front or all four wheels. The engine seamlessly swaps between high compression during steady cruising and low compression during hard acceleration. While it never exhilarates when the pedal hits the metal, only those seeking a seriously quick crossover will be disappointed. Unfortunately, the engine is loud under heavy throttle, and the CVT makes this worse, especially around town.

Few years ago my family and I were looking for a new SUV for mom, we tested the Infiniti QX50, the CVT ruined the experience, at start it felt “ungainly” and at acceleration it sound awful and unrefined. We bought an Acura RDX instead.

Same interior as the QX50, same exact power train, way higher starting MSRP, and the same annoying Nissan beep startup sound that hasn’t changed for over a decade. Infiniti isn’t even trying. They kill it with exterior styling though. It’s just really disappointing to see this from a brand who barely sold 80 thousand units in 2020. It comes across as if they don’t want to succeed. I really hope the new QX60 is a leap forward, this QX55 is merely an addition that brings nothing substantially new. Awesome POV drive.

Exterior is nice but not worth $5k over QX50. The interior is already dated. I have a 2020 QX50 Anniversary Edition and I’m not impressed with the vehicle at all. I had a QX30 and I did enjoy driving that car as it was unique and made by Mercedes Benz.

CVT in this car is a disaster!! I was really looking forward to buy this car, went to infinity, test drove it, within 10 mins I had to pass...that CVT is just AWFUL!!! and it is so unpleasant to drive, sounds really bad. Gorgeous car but made it handicapped by putting an awful CVT....why??

I noticed that the drivers side door panel wood doesn’t meet the drivers side dash as clean as the passenger side does..how did that pass inspectors..hopefully this is a preproduction model and that’ll be fixed. PRAYING TO GOD THE INTERIOR WILL BE UPDATED..ITS LOOKED THE SAME FOR TOO LONG.
