Why wouldn’t they double the battery capacity to give them overnight capability?

The customer was not concerned about doing overnights as they would typically be staying in a marina when going out. 5 hrs is the minimum runtime but as the unit gets close to the set temperature, it will slow down and can then get 9-10 hrs of runtime on the installed bank.

That’s amazing! I have been thinking of doing this on my boat to run my 12k BTU air when I don’t want to run the generator

@@nicksreviewsmiami running a standard on/off style 12,000btu unit off of an inverter is a completely different scenario than the 17k variable speed unit on this vessel. Not to say that it’s not possible but will require a larger inverter, larger battery bank and more charging capability from engine alternators

I totally agree and I realize I would need to replace my traditional 115volt 12k btu air conditioner with a modern one. I realize the DC unit would not use an inverter so I’m curious why this unit is AC. Is it because of the size?
@MabruPowerSystemsINC2 жыл бұрын
@@nicksreviewsmiami yes, because of its size. The largest DC unit that we carry for now is the 12,000 and the factory option on this vessel is a 16,000 so the customer opted for a similar size. The advantage of the available 115v power to power the onboard outlets was also an added advantage
