Great Video. Just note - you braze copper tubes together - it is a much lower heat than 'welding' and is just as strong.

Great video! It would be very helpful if you got a dozen of your competitors systems and compared all of them!

Thanks! I would like to do a sample batch of several competitors but that would be strictly on line voltage systems. We do not have any real competitors in the 12v segment for the time being

How do you calculate your reported BTU/h based on temperature difference and blower output? Precisely what equation do you use?

THANKS NICK! Really persuasive. HOW ABOUT THE VARIABLE SPEED!? Would REALLY sell this if we could see the lower amperage when the speed is throttled down. REALLY an important sales feature. Will check back if you could even just note it here in the comments. All the best! Danny

Danny, both our DC units and our new VI units are variable speed. Our DC units adjust speed based on the difference between set temp and room temp. The 115/230 VI units also adjust speed this way when in auto fan but we took it one step further and have different eco modes that limit compressor speed based on fan speed setting. The 7DC will draw about 18-20A at 12v when just maintaining temp (lowest compressor speed and low fan speed.) I hope that this answers your question

Have you considered doing a chiller unit so a hydronic system can be used instead of a single blower?
@MabruPowerSystemsINC
@MabruPowerSystemsINC 7 ай бұрын
The issue with chillers is that they are not very efficient in small scale. There are two pumps, that need to run whenever the system is on and the system needs to be able to handle the full load even if you only need to cool 1/10th of the area of the vessel. Variable capacity chillers exist but in line voltage. There is not a DC compressor available that is large enough to be feasible

The biggest con is the price on that small 7000 DC unit vs the 120V unit's that cost 75% less that can be powered by an inverter charger that is still needed to charge the battery bank on either units.

Our 7,000BTU 115v is about 50% less but draws about twice the power, has substantial starting amps and is not variable speed. It’s not really a fair comparison. If you have huge alternators or a large lithium bank, the 115v unit could be a great of alternative but other than that, it would not perform properly.

Do you have a 48V unit in the works?
@MabruPowerSystemsINC
@MabruPowerSystemsINC Жыл бұрын
We do not have anything 48v in the works. We do have a new line of AC powered inverter type self contained units that we believe will be a better fit for the higher voltage applications.

@@MabruPowerSystemsINC thanks for the response! 48V would be greatly appreciated, it's the prevalent voltage for electric propulsion. Also have you ever considered making a heat-pump water heater for marine applications?

Do you have plans for a larger DC unit? Catamarans can use more BTUs in the salon.

We do have plans but larger unit is going to be 24v rather than 12v.

@@MabruPowerSystemsINC That's good news! My boat is 48v, as are many medium-large cats.

Would like to see the inside of the marbu power box. I see the competition has a resin coated board.

$ for $, these still don’t compare to 110v + inverter…
@MabruPowerSystemsINC
@MabruPowerSystemsINC 5 ай бұрын
a 110v unit, running though an inverter will draw about twice the power as our DC units. Sure, you can double up the bank but will also need twice the incoming charge to maintain the system running which can work in some applications with plenty of available power but is a problem on most installations.
