The electric Jag is really awesome on road, off-road.. is such a well build very balanced allrounder since from the beginning when i first see it on the internet reviews it didn't really have so many competitors except (Tesla 3, Y and latter Polstar 2).. anyway, it wasn't available in my country (because pandemic situation and other factors at least from the end of last year), sadly now when it is available.. but meanwhile other things did spun out : compared to Ioniq 5 or Kia EV6 GT is a bit too expensive for those who would like it & want it to be a bit more affordable in first place.. imagine now in 2022 when for similar price one could get a Rivian R1T ..

If you don't plan to do too many road trips, this car is AMAZING as far as driving dynamics! There is OK feel to the wheel. Charges slow compared to a Tesla Model Y/Ioniq5/EV6, and I'd argue is more luxurious than the Genesis GV60 (I think its GV or EV?) Get it in Blue or Black, maybe grey. Just takes longer to charge on road trips, but if you're just going to drive it daily around town, and take it to a canyon (or even a track) on the weekends, you can have SO much fun!. The comfort/quietness (and sound system) do make it nice on road trips, though plan to stop a bit longer to charge. Took one on a trip and average around 30 mins charging stops. ON my Tesla Model Y I now average 15-20 mins, but man, I wish I was driving the I-PACE! I would have said earlier "Don't buy CCS cars, go tesla if you need to go on trips and DC fast charge, but on road trips, DON'T charge past 70-80%(even on daily basis). But now that Tesla is starting to open up their Super Charger network to CS cars with the Magic Dock... I kinda wish I'd have another car rather than MOdel Y (Mach-E GT? e-Tron? BUt I would seriously consider an I-PACE if I was going to drive and didn't need to go on trips as often as I do. As far as the Price, a Nicely speck Mustang Mach-E GT (if you can get one at MSRP) will cost you near $70K. a Performance Model Y (if you pay for enhanced autopilot) will break $70K, and w/o EAP, it will still be near $70K< and NEITHER of those car feel luxurious! The Jag IS a luxury brand, so as far as Price, you pay for Luxury. Tesla Model S is not as nice to drive, and cost $30K more. and has Lots of fit & finish issues. (Sorry for long post, but, thought I wanted to share that) I'd get a Jag, and frankly, would consider swapping my model Y and maybe take "more reaxled" trips, rather than stop at chargers for 10-17 minutes, and not be able to eat dinner, get a snack, bathroom, etc :)
@anthonychu25012 жыл бұрын
Part of the reason of it being so quiet and efficient for being an early EV is that they spent a lot of effort on aero. If you see that in detail there is a massive cutout/ air channel from the grille through the hood to tame the air hitting the windshield, and guide it over the roof to the rear spoiler where there are vortex generators on each side so you hear less from the air wrapping around. The MASSIVE diffuser in the rear helps too.

Spot on review. I bought an ipace after trying the competition including the Mach E. The ipace is the only drivers car in this segment. Period. I drive a Yamaha R6 and had a sports coupe before and I still get an exciting drive. The suspension is great! The suspension lets the Mach-E down. It is too soft and then oddly stiff. Seems like soft high speed compression and can be quite harsh, yet still leans more than the jag.

I had the pleasure of having an extended test drive of one of these. Certainly the best EV i've driven to date, I also test driven the Ioniq 5 and EV6 and although neither of these were the top of the range models, it felt incredibly underwhelming compared to the jag. The two reasons why I didn't go for this was the size (coming from a skoda superb) and the terrible software. The satnav died on us a number of times in the two days we had the car... the 'fix' for it was to shut the car off and go away for 10 minutes... which really isnt convenient when you're in the middle of nowhere. Had I not had 2 kids and a dog... I would probably bought this car. I drove this back to back against an Audi E Tron SUV. The Jag is better in every single way bar the technology (which apparently has improved a lot with OTA updates.) The Audi doesn't hold a candle to the Jags driving dynamics, and the Jag is every bit as spacious inside while being considerably shorter. It also felt a lot quicker compared to the Audis very numbed throttle response. Fast charging and a decent price in the UK will probably make it my next car. It also looks spectacular as well. I was massively impressed with its build quality too and they seem to be holding up very well according to owners.

The problem was that when this came out four years ago, no one understood what range an EV needed to be a solid vehicle. All of the Tesla fanfiction EV blogs and fanbois absolutely crapped on this car for its range and performance as they tried to undermine all other companies and pump that stock. The criticism of the infotainment lag was deserved though. They seem to have improved it since then. The criticism of the range was always bunk though.

What a great video...you had me on the edge of my "seat" watching this literally. I am in the market for an EV SUV and recently got to experience the I-Pace in an UBER in Vienna, Austria. Let me tell you, my misconception of it not being an F-Pace (as I had to sell mine to move to Germany) was blown out the window. I am now an I-Pace convert and will be buying one here in the next month or so. Thank you for such an amazing and fun video...and I hope that those "Dads" in the 911s weren't too butt hurt. ha ha ha

Bloody love mine. Everything about the review is spot on. Will be sad to see it go at the end of the year.

This would make a great buy....on the secondhand market when it'll go for 50% of what it cost new.

Really curious if you guys did a meet and greet with the 911 guys at the end of the run and how it went. Would have made a great bonus shot after the credits.. I think this I-Pace deserves a longer period test review just to be thorough Thanks

Here’s the quick review: drives like a dream….so quiet……acceleration to burn, did a SAFE pass today of three cars and truck. Went from 52-125 so fast it made my head spin……charging at home at night NEVER takes 12+ hrs as you rarely pull in

Wow those 911's were absolutely ripping it through those canyons

The I-PACE is not more expensive than the BMW iX - that starts at $83k USD.

I just love how I won’t be able to go on a long road trips without waiting for a quick charge, if I find the fast charge station in the areas I’m traveling to😂. What a time to be alive!

One of this cars features I like the most is that it is trail rated, it can handle going into water up to 20 inches deep. I have also seen videos of it boonie stomping pretty hard as well.😁✌️

Love this video. You hit on the problem with all Jaguars: "If you're looking for _____ that's a bit different....". They don't quite stand on their own. I had an F-Type R and while it was riotous fun, it was almost a 911. The i-pace is almost a Tesla. The f-pace svr is almost a Cayenne Turbo.
@GetOffMyyLawn2 жыл бұрын
I think the people who buy Jaguars buy them because they are not a 911 or Tesla or Cayenne... they want something different.
@updlate47562 жыл бұрын
It doesn't compete with the model X on specs, but it's way cheaper. It absolutely walks a base model Y though, and can actually be had for less money after credit. That's surprising.

I drive the I-Pace of 2020 and I enjoy it every time… (every of my 99699km 😁). It has the charging cheat with Hazard lights while DC Charging (10-80%, 42min Sommer, 46min Winter) I even enjoy the charging time (using my oculus quest 2)
