A bit of more aggressive throttle management and momentum would do wonders to show the JGCs true off-roading abilities. You're babying it too much; understandable though as it is a loaner. Love the dual camera, from the outside and inside POV.

Why was the jeep commander Quadra drive far superior to what they are putting in the grand Cherokee? Why make it worse at off-roading?

Those are not off-road tires. The Trailhawk's Wrangler Territory AT tires are better suited for the kind of off-roading you were doing.

I like your reviews (in road) but what the heck were you doing on that hill?? Of course you are going to lose traction when you keep changing your momentum. That GC will walk up that hill np if you just kept your momentum up the hill and didn't keep stopping. Not really sure what you point was other than to try and make the GC look bad on the climb?
@BenHardyCars2 жыл бұрын
Every vehicle tested on that hill so far has not needed momentum. Go watch the other off-road reviews like the 4Runner trd pro for example.

@@BenHardyCars I can't seem to not miss there is big difference in approach and speed at 6:49 vs the 4runner at 5:21, so was the system limiting you or you let the gas go at 6:53 ? Many crossovers limit the gas even with pedal down to floor, if that is happening here there is not much you could do

@@BenHardyCars on the elocker (rear limited slip diff) you need to spin a tire a little so the computer can grab that brake of the free spinning tire and force the other wheel to turn, thats how this system works.

See if you can get a Ford Broco Raptor (V8) to review -- Drive in on these same trails for comparison! I see an off-road review by TFL for the Bronco Raptor now, so you should be able to get one, I hope. No electric mode, however -- Maybe either Ford or Jeep will make a PHEV with V8, we'll see. 37" tires from the factory.

@@handelrussell1858 Ah, I see that you are correct, sir. Oh well, the Jeep Wrangler 392 has an excellent V8 Hemi, and they are being delivered and seen on the road here in Utah. I saw Ben Hardy's video about the Wrangler 392 Xtreme Recon from back in March but I would like to see it on this trail.

Trailhawk trim comes with rock rails and more undercarriage protection in addition to better tires, right? Nice off-road testing, thanks, what a great vehicle with Electric Mode. A 4xe with electric motors and Hemi V8 (392) would be the best.
@BenHardyCars2 жыл бұрын
The tires look the same and so I think they are the same
@CrumResearch2 жыл бұрын
@@BenHardyCars I just checked and that is incorrect. The Summit trim comes with 265/50R20 BSW All-Season LRR Tires, while the Trailhawk comes with 265/60R18 BSW A/S All-Terrain Tires. I love the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain tires that came with our 2017 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, and maybe this Summit should not have that "Trail-Rated" badge when it comes with tires that are not for trails, you are right. Easy enough to change tires and wheels, of course.

@@CrumResearch wrong trim, this is an overland and it has the same 18 inch wheels and tires
@scottgabbard662 Жыл бұрын
@@BenHardyCars I think you can equip the Overland to be like the TrailHawk. It is my understanding that the only thing the TrailHawk has that you cannot get on the Overland trim is the disconnecting sway bar. Overland gets you nicer seat trim and subdued paint scheme.

regarding JGC 4xe.. For avg conditions, paved roads, if you drove 100 miles, what's the best combined mpg?
@Caspernate Жыл бұрын
Best? If you're driving conservatively, you could get close to 30mpg if you started with a full charge. Real world, if you're not fully charged and just picking up a percent or two of charging as you brake and go downhill, I average about 25/26 mpg in mine. That's not a bad improvement over the 19 mpg that people are reporting in the V6 on fuelly or other real-world MPG sites. And, you have to remember that the 4xe is 375 HP and 470 lb-ft of torque, so it's got more get-up-and-go than the 5.7 hemi, which averages 15/16mpg real world combined.
@tallll702 жыл бұрын
Ahhh this has Qudra Trac 2, no ELSD... Even when the center locks in 4LO the front and rear is just break traction and so it seam the break traction is poorly tuned on this one getting you 2WD 1 in front and 1 in back, shame on Jeep because the new Nissan made it with same type traction control , i've seen better traction response on Renegade

As the owner of a 2014 GC HEMI, and might be looking into a new one in the coming years… I’m not sure if it is on purpose, but on Jeep’s site, the TrailHawk doesn’t seem to be available with a regular gas engine for 2023 - only 4xe… I wish I could get one with a HEMI, but looks like Chrysler is killing all V8’s as of 2023. Can anyone confirm?
