They both sound fantastic. I think the Kirk Hammett one just has the edge for me but, they both sound beautiful. The Hammett one sounds more like Peter, The Gary one sounds more like Gary!

The newest one had alot more attention put on replicating the pickups with collectors choice one they just took a set of Burstbuckers and flipped the neck pickup magnet with the new versions they actually reverse engineered the PAfs and copied the specs. The new one actually has pickups that are clones of the originals while the Burstbuckers are just a general approximation of a average PAF set and not clones of any specific example of any vintage PAF set . 57 classics Burstbuckers and custombuckers are all just general approximations of average vintage PAFs . Gibson does not normally go this far with pickups when cloning guitars . This new version of greeny and the replica of Jimny pages Number 1 are the only 2 times where they actually cloned specific examples of vintage pickups. In every other case when the copies old les Paul's they would just use custombuckers Burstbuckers or 57 classics or would do mixtures of those Sets . I have to say these new Greenie buckers sound fantastic and I hope gibson will Eventually sell them through their Pickup shop . They sound like I could get some serious Jimmy page tones out of them .

Great comparison. FWIW- SGTB was recorded with "Stripe" not the greeny burst (and IMO, a better sounding guitar- Gary's best burst). In this comparison, I think I prefer the slightly warmer tones of the CC1, however the pickups on the new one are more "alive".

I believe the pickups in collectors choice were wax potted while the new Greeny buckers are unpotted which would add to a more immediate attack and add more pop to the notes

I liked the clarity of the kh greeny on clean, the gm was too warm or dark i guess. In the overdrive section i really liked the warm dark sound of the gm it sounded more "vintage" but i still dig the modern sound of the kh. I would want 2 les pauls w those sounds. I go w the kh greeny

Thought just the same. Hammett's got brighter, more articulated cleans but GM wins on the drives. Warmer, more balanced, smoother drive.

Probably when the did the first it still had the original and when the did the later the tip had been replaced

Relic is someone else putting dings, dents, and scratches on a perfect guitar so you don't have to. You only pay a couple of thousand for that privledge. As for the sound....well, that's mostly what your amp will sound like with proper settings. You can make a 500 dollar guitar sound almost as good for 1/20th of the price.

That was some incredible playing! Let's be honest about these guitars though. If money was no object (but it is sadly), that Murphy Lab "Greeny" would on its way to my house. On the other hand, in a blindfold test, most amateur guitarists couldn't tell the difference between each of these guitars. And if they could, they couldn't tell which guitar was "Greeny". We hear with our eyes in these kinds of demos, and that Murphy Lab guitar has it all in spades. Would you give your left nut to have a "Greeny" guitar?

No soy fanático de Kirk Hammett y si soy muy fan de Gary Moore de hecho es uno de mis guitarristas preferidos. Pero en este Review me gustó mucho más la guitarra de Hammett, tiene más graves y resonancia, más medios con cuerpo y aguados brillantes pero redondos y la Gary Moore suena algo delgado sus agudos y con menos médios al igual que menos resonancia. Aún así las dos tienen un tono muy lindo.

La greeny Hammett usa unas pastillas que son clones exactos de la greeny. La greeny Gary Moore del 2010 usaba unas bursbucker pro con la pastilla del puente invertida por eso quizas la 2010 no te suene tan identica a la greeny original. Sin duda las dos guitarras son grandiosas pero el trabajo con la greeny Hammett (me caga Hammett) es espectacular.
