My son's '22 KLR Adventure started having fuel pump issues about 3 months into ownership. The last straw was when it left him stranded. We towed it home and immediately ordered one of your pumps. It was ez to replace and before long, we had his KLR up and running. He says that to him, it runs much smoother. I will continue to order from 3D. Their products are top notch. A huge thanx from Texas 3D!

Question (apologies slightly off topic - not finding any hits on web for actual issue) - Im a new owner of a 2022 KLR. Its my first Kawasaki bike and the most modern bike I have ever owned. I took fuel tank off recently to install Trail tech guages and am in the process of putting bike back together. Im currently trying to put the fuel tank back on and reattach the hose that runs from fuel pump to fuel injection. Shocked by the amount of plastic in this engine! Especially on the connectors and the nipples they attach to. Im having trouble getting the connector to 'close' on the nipple. Its like its jammed or stuck open or some technique not currently being applied... Afraid to apply to much pressure because of all this plastic. Any advice?? Thanks in advance!

@bryanwachtel206 at the risk of sounding simplistic, If it came off, it'll go bak on. U may wanna apply a bit of silicone spray, with that said, once everything is bak on, chek for kinks. Example: my KLR was also on a fuel pump recall list. Even though it was fine, I foolishly took it to the dealer. They replaced it but didn't chek for kinks in the vent line. That caused issues. I then fixed the issue at home. Don't know if I helped u resolve your issue. Wish I was there. Twixt the 2 of us, we might could get the job done.

Did your pump go out?
@Trevorburk12 жыл бұрын
@@3dcycleparts no I haven’t had any problem with mine but I have read about several people having theirs go out and sitting in the dealer for months waiting on parts. So it is great that you make one if I need it.

Brand new 2023 with under 1k miles. I noticed a whirring sound. Sounded like in tank fuel pump would. Ignored it. Until I came out of the house and it had been sitting for 2 hrs in the sun. I hear the sound. Figured out its coming from the tank cap. Mashed the cap down and it stopped. Next day Im sitting in a chair next to my bike. I hear a small thump sound. Didnt notice anything. Went inside and came out. The little flap over the key switch for the cap was standing up. I put it down. 2 hrs later its up again. I accused one of the grandkids of messing with it. Im sitting there later in the day watching them shoot archery. Thump. Look over....flap is up again. Enough pressure built up to blow that little cover up. Pulled the side off my bike and sure enough the vent hose was bent too sharp above and below the moisture canister. I cut them and put a vacuum hose connector in the bend. Not a sound since. The stopped up hose will cause the pump to overwork. Burning them up.

After they did my fuel pump recall, the bike stalls after idling for a second or two on a cold start, only when it is hot outside (90 degrees at least) but then on the second attempt after the cold start it runs fine. I took the bike back to the dealer and they couldnt solve the problem and niether could kawasaki. Any ideas?

So far I'd say about 15000 KLRs were produced in 2022.

@@VEDADDY_OFFICIAL you probably have a California emissions bike so the tank vent is gonna go to a canister instead of to atmosphere.

@@3dcycleparts thank you. I am in Washington state. I was going to take the ferring off to check if the vent hose is kinked, is it still worth it to check even though mine might be the emission type bike?

@@VEDADDY_OFFICIAL since it doesn't go under the skid plate on yours it should be good.

I honestly never regretted buying a motorcycle more than this bike. What a gutless, bad suspension, and terrible handling qualities. Kawasaki should be ashamed to sell this pile of shit. I'll never buy one again at least until they make one that doesn't suck as bad as this bike does. Fuel pump will fail in less than 3000 miles and believe me it will fail when your hours from anywhere too.

@@3dcycleparts the bottom of the pump is backwards to what the factory pump is, so long story short the strainer is towards the outside instead of in the housing
