@@my-back-yard I do as much bottom fishing as the ocean allows me to here in Newport, Oregon. I also do fresh water bass fishing and other fishing and crabbing. We also have lots of nutria that I hunt here in the Willamette Valley.

You are basically heading straight over the rockpile out toward the trench correct? Gas is expensive to wander around out there :-). So you are at the south end of the closure without actually being in the closure? PM me if you don't want to post here. I've never caught a hali but I have high hopes this weekend. Rob
