I love this LX, but I miss the gas-drinking 3UR-FE V8's sound when you start it up (especially on a cold day). It was (and still is) my favorite sound from Lexus and Toyota ever to this day.

I’m glad they got rid of those trackpads.. It’s a pain to use them. I really like this redesign and how they don’t go too much with the redesign. It just ages well with the previous generation

I'm glad too. The trackpad was never my favorite thing about the 2017-onwards Lexus cars in the first place, it was difficult, hard and complicated to use. So glad when I first saw the new NX last New Years Eve, they've got rid of it. Another pain in the butt feature on the new NX is the electronic door handles which IMHO isn't my favorite.

99% of ultra-luxury SUV buyers don't care about reliability or off-road prowess. When you take those out of the picture, this is an extremely overpriced, cramped SUV with minimal features and outdated tech. Not sure why Toyota dropped the LC for the US market and kept the LX, advertising it as an "ultra-luxury SUV" without even mentioning its durability. This vehicle doesn't satisfy what buyers are looking for at this price point.

@@hatslapper6860 There's no "best" because certain things are subjective. But anything from BMW (X7), MB (GLS), Audi (Q7), Land Rover will be better at the things that matter (comfort, premium features, advanced tech, etc.) to luxury SUV buyers. Even the Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

@@MikeKayK I think it's good a reliable full-size luxury SUV exists for those who keep their cars long term. The LX was super outdated for the longest time but now I think it's become a more competitive package with the significant updates in this new gen. Lexus infotainment is pretty shit, but I think Carplay and Android Auto make up for that.

Yet the LX doesn't advertise "long term reliability," instead trying to position itself as an ultra luxury SUV and attract people who could care less about long term reliability. It's trying to attract people who want to spend $100k on an SUV with a ton of features and tech that they will swap for a new one in a few years. The LX is a poor choice for the audience Toyota is targeting.
