Outlander for sure. Rather have a Japanese built car with the 5/60 bumper to bumper and the 100/100 powertrain. I believe the Kia is also the same warranty. I don't need almost 300 hp. I'll save that for my sports cars. The Mitsubishi connect app allows you to remote start the vehicle from your phone with their app, also, you can find your car, roll down the windows, lock the doors, turn on of off the lights and much more. The 3rd row seat on each of them are worth-less. Enough room for a deflated beach ball and unborn child. Just a marketing ploy for both. The Outlander DOES have Blind Spot Monitoring, 360 degree camera, Moving Object Detection, Pre-collision with pedestrian detection, all speed cruise control, Lane departure monitoring w/ lane keep assist, automatic high beams, Rain-sensing wipers, Hand's free power rear hatch, navigation with 7 inch display screen. It also has MY PILOT on the SE and up. This allows you to set cruise and all you have to do is keep a hand lightly on the steering wheel. I have never been a fan of Kia's or Hyundai's. They both make great cars but not my thing.

Great comparison with competing vehicles, very informative! I’m going with the Outlander. Styling, technology and price are more important to me than power. That’s not to say power isn’t important - it certainly is. I believe I would be satisfied with the Mitsubishi’s combination of adequate power as well as ride comfort. Being able to accelerate adequately for a lane change to avoid slower drivers, is my subjective viewpoint for power. It’s the long rides I’m equally concerned with. I live in Philadelphia where there is a lot of stop and go traffic. But I occasionally drive up and down the Northeast Corridor - roughly 400-500 miles. The Outlander would be best for both driving environments I feel.

Mitsubishi builds a solid reliable well configured vehicle. This new edition is a perfect evolution of their brand. For the money the Outlander offer huge value, and a nice safe comfortable vehicle. As for the Kia their styling, multitude of features and engine options makes it a strong contender. In the end if it came down to price, feature and reliability I would pick the Outlander. The Sorento has the performance, but that comes at a price that I’m not willing to go as there are many other options I would explore at that price range. Give me the Outlander! Kia Sorento for me. Rented a brand new 2021 Outlander last month and didn't like it at all. Used to own 3 mitsu.. Very reliable vehicles I would say. Had two evos and a v6 outlander.

Im not sure what he's talking about when he says that the outlander doesn't have blindspot monitoring. Mine has monitoring, and lane keep assist. It also has collision avoidance, and automatic braking. It also has some weird traffic sign recognition feature. I'm not even sure what it does yet. Sounds like he just isn't very familiar with the vehicle. He also skipped over mentioning the ride quality, which is probably the outlanders strongest feature besides the interior.

I sell Kia for living. Had a customer that was comparing the Outlander to the Tellurides, ended up buying the Sorrento SX model the same day. The 2021 Sorrento SX by far is my favorite SUV.

Hyundai and Kia used to beg Mitsubishi for their engines. How times have changed.

Good review mate. Better than most. Thanks. You dud not tell what two engines were you comparing. Diesel or petrol? Maybe I was not paying attention. But very good review.

Do not care about power. Anyway city and highway are pretty regulated so idont see much point. I just press the gas more than some old people and all cars are fine enough... tech is very similar in both cars , space very much too... at the end the sorento look is nice and have cool seats... the outlander is looking good too especially with straight top lone but slightly weird bubly style of the fog lights... still look nice tho. And 8-10k cheaper with better warranty. Overall i think kia and mitshubishi are the best small 7 seaters and mitshubishi is even less expensive so i thing its a good choice

Is the Kia Sorento Hybrid not available in Canada?? I test drove one back in march and it was awesome. Still, I think I'm going to get the Outlander.

Love this new outlander, Mitsubishi has really stepped up their game. I disagree with you, front end and back end of Mitsubishi looks much better. I agree, they could have added more power in Mitsubishi

The Kia Sorento reminds me of a station wagon with a touch of Ford Mustang.
