2022 NHHA round 1 Lucerne Valley || Open A on a 250f

Round one of the national hare and hound series went pretty well by the end. it didn't start that way and really had to work hard for a good result.

Wow, now this is desert racing, watch some dirt road stuff in Utah; got to give it to them the speeds are crazy, but nevertheless dirt roads. looking for the massive downhill in Lucerne Valley a van at the bottom looks like a litte beetlel and always a check point. Oh single track mostly through the rolling hills; occassionally there will be a dry lake, dirt road but in my racing very rare. I had a yz 125 and in this single track, tight stuff, you don't need a 400. Funny no four strokes back then but they change the size classes to give 4 stroke help. Even a dirt road, isn't. Try a 300 KTM two stroke. A hill imagine that... that bike has torque, wrong great still pulls. Great rider, I was horrible but loved it, a finishing pin after 100 miles was my goal and a lower number next year. Thanks for this. got tired of Utah stuff. You the man. are there any video's of the massive up/down hills in Lucerne; one I think Desert knights in the 70's was something to behold.

Great ride! I was pass #9 on the 250 2 stroke. My first loop was much better than my second. As a Super Senior, any finish is a win!

What tire combo do like for that hell? Air filter has to get wasted in that dust..good on you man, making passes and getting after it!

I was running a 80/100 21 Dunlop mx33 on the front, and was running a 100/100 18 Michelin starcroas 5 medium in the rear. The 100 feels great for the 250f. Mx33 is my go too, as well as the Michelin mediums either end now. Air filter prep has to be perfect. As long as I know I did that well I don’t worry while I race.

It’s been my favorite bike all time. The only place I wish it had a bit more power was at the start of the bomb run like this, or if you go to the sand dunes. Otherwise it’s been awesome 😎
