i like the concept of this, but maybe it should be a card that's unknown or smaller targets. I don't think whoever planned this did not consider how accurate the players can shoot.

I feel like if it was a smart board that mixes the cards between every shot it would be nice, the player would have let's say 3 seconds from the time he sees the cards to shoot... it would make it interesting

@@MrJabez89 I think they need to have sets of cards for each player instead of a whole deck of 52 to shoot at. that way nobody gets eliminated because "theres no more aces" lol. Give the player 3 pucks to make 21 in card sets of 4, completely randomized. Along with busts, the lowest score at the end of each round will be eliminated to keep the game moving.

Didn't think it through? My friend, there are only a certain amount of cards in a deck lol. Hitting those 4 aces meant face cards were left, the same way they would in blackjack lol. Let's just keep tossing aces up and rig the deck though so people can go for 100 rounds LOL

Well they didn't even keep the rules consistent in the first place. They established that if any players got a blackjack after the first round of shooting, they won or headed to a tiebreaker. Both Pavs and Kadri got blackjacks and they were just like, "Okay everyone gets a shot at getting a 21 now" which was just nonsense. And then they made up the whole thing about the Aces and Matthew's and Tkachuk got eliminated because they couldn't shoot at anything, it was so poorly planned and executed

They literally just ignored the rules that they came up with. Matthew's, Tkachuk, and Stamkos should have been eliminated after that first round because Kadri and Pavelski each got the Blackjack. It should have been a shooting contest between Pavelski and Kadri at that point. I guess they didn't think through how short of a competition this would be an needed to drag it out for the extra views, what a joke 🙄

@@andrewpersaud4144 because blackjack is a game of chance and you already have the accuracy contest every year, if they are turned around you still have to be accurate enough to hit the cards but you have no idea what your hitting so say you're at 13, it makes it alot riskier to shoot that next shot and adds a level of unpredictability to the game. Cuz honestly anyone in the ECHL can probably hit those targets

I just find it cringe having 5 all star nhl players standing there shooting without knowing what card they're getting. It was fun seeing them call the card they're hitting and then snipe it. Also the icing on the cake here is they're sharing cards. The final round was a bit of a joke eliminating people because of a supply problem lol. If you make it "chance" everyone needs their own deck so to speak.

This was fun for me, lighthearted style, not an intense challenge, but still it is cool for hanging with the players... which should tell us that to improve this lighthearted format there could be more chatting and hosts engaging the players, a little bit like some party games with friends style, who's line is it anyway stuff too etc. Obviously if we're looking for intense skills challenge this isn't it.

A couple things I noticed about this challenge: 1) The lights were not getting broken, at least not when the aces were getting hit. The same set of lights flashed every single time an ace was hit. 2) They 100% ignored the Blackjack rule. Pavelski & Kadri got blackjack, so the shooting should have ended for anyone who hadn't already banked an ace or a card worth 10. Instead, they let them all keep shooting to try to get 21. Of course they were all very likely to eventually get to 21. The point was to get a blackjack and then have those players do shoot-offs until 1 is victorious. At the end of the day, the NHL wanted to pander to the Vegas theme, created a halfway thought out, one-off event and nobody on the production team bothered to mention to the announcers that lights would flash on ace hits, nor remind them about the blackjack rule when they forgot about it. So instead of a cool, unique, and well executed Vegas themed event, they got the event equivalent of a shart. 🤷‍♂️ Better luck next time, NHL.

This wasn't very well planned at all. The concept is cool but the execution was terrible. Next time - Change the Targets so that they are much smaller than before - have a moving element to the event so it's harder to shoot at the card you want. It's much harder to shoot at a moving target than a still one. That's a fair test of accuracy. - Have it be a Head to Head competition like a bracket system - No renewed targets until a new head to head is played as in if someone gets an Ace all aces are taken off the board so it makes it harder for the opponent to complete a blackjack because they would have to shoot at more targets.
