On December 14, 2022, NIH virtually hosted the third annual Synthetic Biology Consortium Meeting. The focus of this meeting was to discuss control theory approaches to create robust synthetic biology technologies that are safe and predictable, especially in the context of human health. The meeting topics included engineering biology capabilities and bottlenecks, responses to the pandemic, control theory toolkits and modeling, and scaling up biocontrol methods to complex biological systems. The meeting also included talks from our speakers, Domitilla Del Vecchio (MIT), Katie Galloway (MIT), Josh Leonard (Northwestern), and Marcella Gomez (UCSC), to discuss their research in synthetic biology.
