2022 One Week Wonder Makes First Flight

My two sons and I pulled rivets on the one week wonder this year. Great to see it fly! So what happens to the airplane now that it is done?

You must feel like a test pilot when you take off a kit when it's finished. The frame, skin, wings, tail, and engine have to settle in. It's cool that everyones names will be preserved for the life of the plane/paint job. Great idea teaching people & letting them see it fly. Its their plan.

I really enjoyed watching the various reports of the build during the week at Oshkosh and is great to see the plane in the air. Was wondering if you folks will be posting more info from the build, things like specs specific to this plane with its Rotax motor and such. I’m guessing the plane was built reasonably bare bones other than perhaps flight electronics so I’m curious as to its finished weight. Thanks

think back to the Wright brothers building many designs. how cool is it that we can build an advanced flying machine in a week (with the help of some friends) aviation is amazing

I hope that airplane doesn't get the reputation of the 1970'S Bananza with the V tail. I hope it flies better too! The Bananza's were nicknamed The Widow Maker or The Doctor Killer!

The only thing our Y-Tail aircraft have in-common with the V-Tail Bonanza is Bernoulli.

It’s not a V tail. The Y tail is a far safer configuration for stability and spin recovery.
