Glad you’re back, and I hope you feel better by the day! I’m super excited for this season! Haven’t seen many of the films that will be contenders yet (because I don’t do festivals or anything like that), so these next few months will be wild. I’m currently rooting for Chastain in Best Actress, as that is one of the few I’ve seen so far. Maybe Stewart will knock my socks off, though. Loved CODA, and hope it didn’t come out too early in the season to not get any recognition. Supporting nods are definitely needed! Can’t wait for Licorice Pizza. I’m kind of expecting it to be my favorite film of the year, as PTA is my favorite director putting out a project this season. Hope he finally wins an Oscar. We shall see! Would also love to see Julia Ducournau be nominated for Director! Titane is just insane.

I would be shocked if Guillermo got passed over for director when his last film won him Picture-Director. Especially since the Directors' Branch love their bold international auteurs over the directors of "crowd pleasers" (eg. rightfully nominating Paweł Pawlikowski and Yorgos Lanthimos over Peter Farrelly). King Richard would have to overperform in a big way to break into this year's director race. PS. Glad to have you back!

Ayo Max, Glad your back my guy but, we STRONGLY disagree with a lot of these haha! For one, I think CODA won't get anything because of its release date and that it honestly wasn't THAT good even for the Academy imo. Also Green over Del Toro is kinda crazy imo, since KR doesn't look like a strongly directed film compared to Nightmare Alley. I think Balfe and Blanchett (NA) will both be in supporting and both get in. Also I think Mass gets 0 noms despite the love for it, since the campaigning for it right now is awful and I doubt the Academy will watch it sadly. I also think Jamie Dornan goes Supporting and will get in for now. Also in my opinion, I think you're overlooking Being The Ricardos. I think it can easily get Screenplay like Molly's Game and also get into Lead Actress since it's super baity. I also think Cyrano has an excellent shot in PD and CD because it's Joe Wright and Anna Karenina did incredible so Cyrano definitely has a shot too. But I'm glad your back man!

Like you said "It's their time" is a thing and I believe that with Denis Villenueve. He has so much respect, and he's on such a high right now, I'm certain he will win DGA. Look the size of the film, the vision, all that he has done for the Theatre experience, I honestly don't see anyone winning over him.

I was able to watch Belfast and lord what a forgettable Best Picture winner if it pulls it off. I think it's just a good, but whatever flick. Luckily, the front-runner at this point historically almost ends up being the runner-up or worse. Which bodes well in the sense, I think Belfast will end up winning 1-3 awards, but miss director and Best Picture. :)
