I keep jumping back and forth between trail s 1000 and Xp1000.

Both RZR's are a great choice! In my opinion I would choose a XP 1000 because the ride quality is better due to a wider stance and shocks.

I picked the general it will do everything the rzr will and then some

I have owned both machines, the XP and the Trail S. I liked a Trail S better. It depends on the type of riding you’ll be doing. I doing only trail rides so it’s perfect for tight trails. With the shocks set to full soft it’s a great ride. Plus it fits on a smaller trailer. The XP is a beast though. You can’t go wrong with any machine.

What would you recommend if you’re doing all of it? Trail, sand, Moab (rock crawling)?? Family of 6 haha

Both machines will handle those riding styles but in my opinion the RZR will be better for rock crawling as a stock machine compared to the General.

The only thing I'd say you didn't cover adequately is the track width. Many trails have a 50" limit and I don't think the General will fit on those trails..... I could be wrong but I don't know because you didn't cover it when you discussed the front ends.

All states are different, but in Wisconsin most trails are for machines 65" and under. But good point these two machines are over 50" wide.
