2022 Polaris Sportsman 570 Trail and Ride Command Edition Test Review. The 570 SP, later the 570 Premium, then the 570 Trail in 2021, Polaris added their Ride Command GPS/infotainment system to their Dual A-Arm-equipped Sportsman 570 trail for 2022, along with a few other added features, creating the new Sportsman 570 Ride Command Edition we’re testing. Ride Command is also available on the 2022 Sportsman XP 1000.
For 2022, all Polaris Sportsman models equipped with electric power steering now feature Polaris’ Multi Select electronic power steering with three modes of assistance from which to choose. The Ride Command edition and Ultimate Trail versions also have three selectable throttle modes.
LED lighting is used at both ends on the Trail, Ultimate Trail, and Ride Command Editions. High and low beam lights are mounted up front with an additional high beam light pod that turns with the handlebars. New LED accent lights are found on both models.
If you’re considering the high-end, McPherson Strut-equipped 570 Premium, you’d be crazy not to spend $700 more and get the dual A-Arm front suspension, upgraded lighting, and factory installed winch on the 570 Trail.
If you tend to ride in smaller ride parks and typically ride 4x4s like sport quads, you’ll currently pay $1,800 more for the Ride Command edition than the Trail edition. Unlike Polaris’ RZR, Ranger, and General side-by-side models, Ride Command isn’t inside a roll cage. One good tip over could easily cost you a couple grand or more in repairs. Of course, for long distance rides at a cruising or touring pace, accidents are far less likely.
For exploring vast trail systems with friends or braving the great outdoors alone is where the capabilities of Ride Command really shine. Add in the ample performance and efficiency of the Pro Star 570 engine, the stable, plush ride we’ve come to love Polaris for, plenty of on-board storage and the Sportsman 570 Ride Command Edition has everything needed for long days and big ride adventures.

Cool but pricy, This quad offered all of the comfort and performance we've come to expect from Polaris' mid-bore machines. The addition of Ride Command could make it the ultimate touring machine. Can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts.

@Connor Olson SXS tests are done on our sister channel kzbin.info. I don't think they have reviewed the Ranger 570, although that should be on the list. A few of our favorite 500cc and up 4x4 ATVs include the Sportsman 570 models, Outlander 570, The Outlander 1000 is the most thrilling with the Grizzly 700 as perhaps one of the very best all-around for work, play and reliability.

These aren't 12K USD. I purchased a 2022 570 Trail in Feb 2022 for $11,600 CAN. I loved it so much I added another 2023 570 Trail to the fleet in November for the same price, minus the $500 rebate Polaris was offering in November. They also offered an extra 6 months of Warranty. Pretty good promo. I sold my 2019 Grizzly 700 EPS when I purchased the 2023 570. I've owned many Yamaha powersports toys over the years, unfortunately this 2019 Grizzly wasn't showing the Yamaha reliability, from day 1. We have not had any issues with our Polaris 570's. They have the same mid and hi end power that the Grizzly 700 has, but lacks a little low end torque that the bigger 686cc engine offers. In every other way the Sportsman 570 Trail beats the Grizzly EPS. Better factory tires, factory winch, bumper, better 4x4 system, hill control, turn radius, ride and handling, lighting, guage, sportier exhaust note, better power steering feel, for 3K less money. Added Handwarmers, Moose Windshields, Bison Hunter rear bumpers to protect the rear plastic and LED's. The Duro tires work good for us. We put our machines through everything in Northern Saskatchewan. Hunting, Work, Muskeg (My deep mud bogging days are behind me), Sand, Snow, Ditches, Gravel, etc. Anyone who has ridden these machines have been impressed with the value, comfort and performance.

I've ridden 570's and they do have decent power, and ride well, but 12 grand??!! Ouch. Way too much. The new screen, and all its do-dads add up. One rollover and here comes a hefty repair bill. Its also a very fat, heavy machine. I've never been a fan of single lever braking, or plastic racks. The racks don't hold a candle to steel ones. The front one especially flexes, and moves around on that hinge system. I've helped load Polaris's on trailers, and when you man handle the quad in place, I've had the racks pop open. That does not happen on my steel rack Grizzly. Also seeing that quad puke out its rear end doesn't do well for Polaris, and their reputation for being somewhat unreliable. This review almost glossed over this major problem. Wouldn't want that happening on the trail. I'll stick to my Yamaha all day long. You can beat on it, and it will ask for more with no issues.

I feel the KQ 750 is just a little further ahead in engine performance to be a fair competitor in the engine category. However, I think the Polaris would win in most other categories like rack capacity, suspension, etc. Never ridden a Grizzly before. But I do love seeing shootouts, which seem to be non existent these days. Especially ones that pit many brands against each other. Not just Can-Am vs Polaris
@gregrowe1168

Throw in the outlander 570 and new arctic cat 600 too. I’m probably a bit biased but the KQ should win that contest. It would have the most power and overall I think is a better machine than the similarly powered Grizzly.

I have the 21 570 eps and having owned it for a year I have to say I’m disappointed that Polaris didn’t fix some issues the 21 had especially with the venting for the cvt, I already had to replace my belt , and I don’t understand why they go with “automotive style” bushings that you can’t grease I already had to replace my control arm bushing all around at 1400km and they squeak so much cause water gets in and washes away the grease, also the winch from Polaris is junk not even a year and it crapped out on me in the bush pulling a buddy out , I feel like Polaris goes backwards when they design things, if it isn’t broken and works great then why change it , why do you think Honda and Yamaha have long lasting products cause they don’t try to keep changing things that work ,

When is Polaris going to listen to the 1000's of complaints on the small receiver and finally make it a 2"? Seriously, they've redesigned the lineup across the board now and all still have that stupid small receiver. I have a perfect example, I have a blackboar implement that my Polaris is the only ATV Ive owned that I can't use it with. Good thing I have the AC too to do the farm work with.

If you increase the hp in this model you will see the results in the commercial department. Many people will buy it! I had a Polaris sportsman 570 and now I have sportsman 1000 s. The aestetichs is very good in the new model but the way is increase the power! Best regards

They could offer a model in the 700cc range. They used to have a lot more models. I think a new 650-700 cc twin making about 60 hp would sell very well. The 850 is very powerful but a lot more expensive than the 570. The 570 would still sell well because of its lower price and those wanting extreme performance would still pay the premium price for the 850 and 1000.

Excellent review. My only thing is always hearing people say plastic racks limit strapping. I totally disagree. Steel racks lack any real flat surfaces to get a good footing. Tie down typically can wiggle loose, and always scuff the rack paint. That's about as breif as I can put that. Plastic racks give a good flat surface that allows a solid tie down. And a since plastic racks, and more so Polaris ones, they have enough notches for hooks that I've never experienced a tie down issue. Add that you can get some lock and ride D rings, there are more options there too.
