THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for bringing up the front storage lid. I just purchased a 2020 X2 and Polaris sent me a survey and thats what I brought up. I still own a 2007 500 sportsman and the front storage is much much more durable with TWO hinges. I actually feel the ATV is built stronger overall.

@jeffhamel2449

@@beastgirl43 Hi, don’t get me wrong. The 2020 is a nice machine but it’s overall made cheaper. Or at least feels it. A few examples are the front storage rack. The 2007 is made from thicker plastic with Metal closures, 2 hinges that don’t flex. The overall plastic on the entire machine in thicker and more durable, the metal tube frame as well. The way the seat attaches on the 2007 much much better. Just overall the 2007 is just beefier. Now the motor on the 2020 is stronger and “snappier” compared to the 2007. Go to a showroom and see that model. It’s nice but just not built as heavy duty. It feels like they just keep cutting corners to save ounces and/or pennies. I get it but I think they’ve gone to far. I sat recently on the Can Am 570. If you get a chance try and find a 2020 to sit on. They built it much nicer and beefier.....I actually might have gone with the Can Am if I had sat on it prior to buying the X2. That says a lot for a guy that has nothing but Polaris ATV’s & sleds Hope that helps :)

Thank you for calling this stuff out! I've loved Polaris but they continue to cut corners in ridiculous obvious ways while the prices keep going up. Like the latches and doors on my $28k ultimate Pro XP.... just ridiculous. I love that 570 but that front rack/lid is a joke. Can't believe they thought that's acceptable on a 9-10 thousand dollar quad.

Thanks for calling them out on the flimsy front rack hinge. It's such a glaring oversight on a really great quality machine. It really doesn't make any sense for such great quads to have such a poorly thought out front rack system. The storage option is killer, but you'd think they could design a hinge or framework or something that would add rigidity and life to something that is going to be used SO often.

All they really did was put the 570 engine in the 850-1000 chassis on it and move the battery which means next to no aftermarket support just like the 850-1000's. That 570 trail edition costs $2000 more than what I paid for my 850 basically overpriced and they still need to offer it as a high lifter to compete with the outlander 570 xmr.

Henry M Great video... I have owned (my first and only) Honda Foreman TRX 500 a 2012 with ES and ESP and had good resale when I sold it spring of 2022. It wasn't 100% reliable either as I had freeze up between shifts in the gear, more so in colder sub zero weather and especially when going up a steep hill. Nothing pissed me off in being on a steep hill then having to get stopped by my shifter which I considered a safety issue. It didn't do it as often with more kilometers on it. Sold with 8000 kms or 5000 miles as it was getting dated and started getting into the bigger maintenance. That being said I purchased a 2022 Polaris 570 Trail Edition with the intention of keeping it for at least 4-5 hunting seasons and to be on the safe side got the extended warranty. Issues that was expected the clunking getting into all gears and sometimes take off, was explained by Polaris technician that its the way the clutch is set up and how the helix chucks slap into the gear mechanism. Now that it was explained, that is a quality and poor engineering issue from Polaris so I will hold them accountable should any failures happen during the warranty period. Also the gear shifter (handle) and how it works is substandard compared to the Japanese brands. It's like I'm putting an old tractor into gear. The plus side to the Polaris is the HP and plush suspension, ground clearance, and the AWD system (including low gear selection), the gearing and handling is way above the Honda's performance. In summary I think Honda has reliability and quality on its side for reputation. Polaris has over all better performance, handling and comfort. I'm an older guy at 59 and the comfort and performance was a consideration in my purchase. It was a trade off for reliability.

Thanks Luke, enjoyed your pros and cons of this unit. Our local dealer has one in the show room, looks great, but I'm with you, the front cover is almost an after thought. Not sure weather I want to trade my 19 in on this unit. Maybe I'll just replace all my tires and keep riding. Thanks Luke your opinions are very valuable for novices like myself and my wife.

Went riding the other night on a group ride with 7 riders. 3 Yamaha Grizzly’s and 4 Polaris, 2 new 570’s and 2 Razors. Both 570’s belts got swamped 10 minutes into the ride. One Razor front differential broke so it got stuck constantly and the other Razor kept over heating. The 3 Yamahas worked flawlessly.

Great overview. One thing I'd like to see is a measure of the weight distribution at the tires front to back. I have a 2015 Sportsman 570, and the front is so light that it'll float during some water crossings. Also makes trying to climb sand piles require a second pair of pants, when the front tires start lifting.

My brother just a bought a 2021 570. Overall nice machine, but the fit and finish on the front storage rack is extremely lacking. I have a lot of respect for polaris and one day may buy another one. I have currently got rid of all of my Polaris. I’ve owned multiple sportsman and rzr’s. . The one point that I found with all of them is they eat bushings and bearings. I’ve never seen a machine that goes through bearings and bushings as much as the Polaris do. If they can build a machine that I don’t have to replace them every year I may come back to the brand but until then I’ll drive can a.m.

I'm not so keen on the new body style it's decent but I think the older one looks a bit better. There are a few nice upgrades like the plugs in the headlight housing. The front storage has always been great and I can't believe other manufacturers haven't copied it. The plastic racks of the older machines were MUCH tougher than the new ones. They've gone down hill in that department. I really like how Polaris' bumpers go so far down on the body and protect more of the machine than bumpers of other brands that only cover the upper portion. Looking forward to a full review.

You can also hear this clunk when going over rocky terrain. Wish they would have just used regular plastics or used a matte paint. Too pretty for a trail machine. Power steering is definitely not speed sensitive and handling is very twitchy at higher speeds. Ride quality is awesome on the trail compared to my 19 KQ 750 SE+. The seat on the older 570 sloped towards the front as well .and yes that rib feeling under the seat cover not nice . Yamaha has the best power steering in the atv biz . While reversing in 4x4 on a polaris the operator must hold the overide button in to keep the machine in 4x4 . I have plowed snow with one and it's not a good set up . Ya that front hinge is terrible , maybe engineering threw that together late Friday afternoon . Great vid. I have a 2019 Polaris 450EPS and love it! But, I will have to say I like the newer, meow aggressive front. And, I like the easy battery tender location. However, I am NOT a big fan of the less room in the front storage. And, I don’t like the cheap looking straps on the cover either. Plus, NO rear storage and NO A-arm guards on front AND back??? What were they thinking? Besides the battery.location, I think the older design is better overall.

Man, nice I have a 2022 Sportsman 450 with power steering, it has three levels of power steering assist high, medium, low, I found medium to be the best, dose the 570 Trail not have three levels of assist !
@dirttraxtv
@dirttraxtv 21 минут бұрын
The 570 Touring has 3-mode. Not sure about this model. I'm not the biggest fan of the Polaris EPS system. Max assist is far too much assist and even medium is okay for crawling, but still too much assist. Needs a bit more refinement.

I don't understand why polaris doesn't give the X2 this kind of treatment. Imo that's the best/most versatile sport utility machine in their lineup

I'd really like to see more riding footage in these reviews. It's one thing to hear about how much better a suspension is or how powerful an engine is, it's another to see what kind of terrain you can put it through and see what kind of powerslides it can hold.

Luke I have a 2015 570. Just picked up two of these as well and immediately noticed what I believe to be a clutching difference. The new 2022's felt very sluggish and under powered on hills. We operate at 6,000 ft Plus. Some have recommended changing the weights on the new ones. Do you have any thoughts on this or info on the 2022 clutching?

The power steering has been a gripe of mine with Polaris for a long time. I had a 1000 Sportsman and when you got it up to speed, it was almost dangerous. It seems like the Yamaha's have the best set up here. The front hinge? Wow, what a bad idea. That's all I can say.

I absolutely love the ride and bump absorption of my 2007 Sportsman 500 X2. How does the double A arm front suspension machines compare to the classic strut system?
@esasaarinen2423
@esasaarinen2423 3 жыл бұрын
wrc rally cars use MacPherson struts, it makes the vehicle a lighter weight than the double a arm suspension would make it. Also, due to its vertical nature, making turns could mean that your tires don’t touch the road as much. This will limit your control of the vehicle tremendously.with double a arm suspension your wheel alignments remain consistent as well as your steering. This will allow you to handle the vehicle better as you’re driving it better stability on the road because the tires are touching the road more. The only negative thing to say about the double wishbone suspension is that it is costly. This suspension system is a lot more complex than the MacPherson suspension, which means it costs the manufacturers more money to create it. There are so many components and parts of the double a arm system. If one part were to go bad or get worn out, then your whole suspension would stop functioning properly. As the owner, it will cost you more money in maintenance and repairs.if you are a big fan of affordability and less maintenance, then MacPherson should be your choice. But if you would rather have a suspension system that gives an excellent performance, then go with the double wishbone instead.

I went from an older sportsman 400 with the McPherson strut to a newer 570 with the dual a arm and the ride is not comparable. Granted my shocks on the 400 had seen better days but the dual a arm on the 570 just blow the struts out of the water. I can hit the same trails same bumps at twice the speed I could before, and they absorb the impact so much better. I’ve noticed all 4 tires seem way better planted in cornering and off camber sections.

I'm really on the struggle bus deciding between the 570 trail, or the 850 premium trail. Basically is $2500 CAD more really worth it for Just shy of double the hp and the twin engine. Everything else is more or less the same.

It looks like the chassis and components are the same as my 2015 570sp with refreshed body work. Ive always been a die hard Polaris fan with 3 new machines in 5 years. I've had major problems with mine this year (1200km's) everything from rod bearing, voltage regulator, melted tail lights, melted seat pan and more. It was a great bike before the issues and only used for light trail use. Looking at purchasing a new atv, just a little hesitant about buying another Polaris.
