The entire point of a sports car is maximizing driving experience. This does the exact opposite with AWD, PDK, way too much power to enjoy on the street, a heavily turbocharged engine with a lower redline, numerous computer aids, stupidly heavy curb weight, electric power steering, and other insulating factors. This is a great car, but a terrible sports car.

@@tyler9703 I disagree. A sports car is generally just a high performance vehicle, sharp handling, rapid acceleration. You are talking more about a fun and engaging driving experience, but that does not coincide with the best sports car. The 911 turbo has always punched far above its price tag. Furthermore, the 911 in general, is arguably the best sports car ever made.

Rented a 992 Turbo S and 992 GT3 back to back at PEC ATL last year. GT3 was amazing, but the Turbo S was on another planet. Did about 10 launch controls, and firmly planted this car in my "someday" list. Great video! -Fred

Man oh man, that drive looked like such a blast! C&C had a fantastic turnout too - talk about a wildly eclectic menagerie of cars; from stance builds to six-figure super cars, barn finds to meticulously restored works of art, and everything in between. Jeff, the owner of the Morgan spotted at 5:02, goes way back with us - their whole family has an incredibly storied history in automotive - definitely someone to talk shop with, neat guy. My own ride this time was a bit tamer, I brought a barn find Fox Body Mustang that we tucked away in some corner of the lawn, but even away from the action, there were a good number of folks that were super down to earth and chatting it up about the ol’ thing. These have to be some of the best C&C’s around! It was great running into you, keep up the awesome content!

The Turbo S and GT3 amaze me with how diverse a single chassis can be. While they're both unique, I would personally take the GT3 because of that insane sound and the fact that it is the perfect speed to where you can somewhat wind it out without getting pulled over. The Turbo S just seems very torque heavy and a bit too stupidly fast for the American market for those who don't know how to handle it. But you know what, it ain't fun if it aint risky ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also side note, you should make a video of bringing your 88' 911 to Cars and Coffee, I feel like that would be very entertaining!

Looks like that Turbo S has the optinal sport suspension beased on the PDCC button on the dashboard, which is the new thing for Turbo series. It makes the car lower and way stiffer than the Turbo/Turbo S with the standard suspension. It makes the Turbo series performs better on track and looks better from outside, but less suitable for daily driving.

The difference between Turbo and Turbo S is the PDCC (Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control). On the Turbo S it’s standard, that’s why your car is so stiff. When I was doing research about what Cayenne to buy, I saw some feedback regarding PDCC that it’s too stiff, so I didn’t get it.

In 1977 I was a senior in high school. Me and some buddies went to the closest Porsche dealer to see in person the car we had heard about. There she was, a white 1976 Turbo! Sticker price was $27K...I was floored by how expensive it was! From that day on it has been my dream car....dream only because even though the price of them has changed quite a bit...the one thing that has not changed is my inability to afford one!

I used to be the park ranger at Larz. Lived in Brighton and drove that road every day. My outback would take a beating over the Cleveland circle tracks, can’t imagine it on something like this... This is certainly a daily driver in the south. The roads in Massachusetts are absolutely awful. Having lived here for 10 years, it still annoys me almost every day. So many cracks, holes, and new construction.

The extra stiffness is likely due to running to high a tire pressure. Tire pressure is everything with the 992 and letting some air out can transform the feel.

Love they gave the low end torque and responsiveness, making the car practically fun. I never thought of it as an 'old man' quality, more like a high strung personality. 😄 I hate cars where you have to dig into the throttle, bang through a gear, and watch the revs climb into the powerband. I've driven cars with signifianclty less power, that are much more enjoyable at low speed, because they are so much more responsive.

Hey Ted do you know if this car is fitted with the Sport suspension? Where it lowers it by another 10mm vs the regular PASM suspension, maybe that's the reason this turbo s is firm? Tryna get a Carrera GTS myself, deciding on whether to get the regular or sport suspension.

I was thinking the exact same ! I think the lowering by -10mm will make it a firmer ride , plus when you have the pdcc on it stiffens up even more.
