Is this the greatest Porsche drag race of all time? You know what, we think it just might be!
We’ve got the new Porsche 911 Turbo S facing off against a new 911 GT3 and a 991 generation GT2 RS! And of course, as you’d expect, the stats on all three cars are absolutely wild…
Starting with the 911 Turbo, it’s powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six that puts down 650hp & 800Nm. Of course, it’s super expensive, costing around £165,000, and it’s also pretty heavy, weighing in at 1,640kg.
Alongside it, we have the awesome GT2 RS. It’s also powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six, but it puts down 700hp & 750Nm. It’s a fair bit lighter than the Turbo S, at 1,470kg. However, it’s got one big disadvantage - it’s RWD only! It’s also SUPER expensive these days, costing you around £300,000!
Then finally we have the GT3. It’s powered by a 4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six that delivers 510hp & 470Nm. It’s the lightest car here, at 1,435kg, and it’s also the cheapest, at £128,000. But just like the GT2 RS, it’s also only equipped with RWD!

It's insane how quick the GT3 was in the drag race considering it has rear-wheel drive and a NA engine with 510hp. Did the same time as an M8 with x-drive and Over 100hp more. Insane.

Great show…my thoughts on the starts..everyone jumps the start because they can see it coming as the starter raises their arms and then drops. This causes the drivers to prejudge the start which always ends in mis-starts. For a more accurate start the starter could just hold their arms up while the drivers rev up to launch position and then the starter drops her arms to start. This way there is no anticipation as all drivers must wait until the arms drop. I think you will see accuracy improve because the human tendency to anticipate is kept in check….cheers great show!

The GT is doable, 911 GT1 is waaay to expensive to run insurance-wise, I mean It's close to be a one off
