It’s only about 13k cheaper then a Model S and when you start adding any normal options like ventilated seats,power folding mirrors with the premium package or basic lane centering the car price balloons. In video it was stated that the car was 116k as tested. Way over model S that comes with most features standard with More range and more power. Taycan is good but that price, even though technically lower, once configured with options no normal person gets even close and most likely are paying over a Model S for sure. I’m actually considering a taycan, but model s is still a better overall vehicle as far as specs and ease after driving a taycan.

I just ordered my Porsche Taycan Cross 4S 580 horsepower ☺️ i drove RS, amg’s.. and i can say that this car is better than all of them.. i assure ! What an amazing car! Just can’t wait 4 months to go !

I am not a fan of EVs but I would buy this any day over a Tesla. The model S hasn't been significantly updated in 10 years.

The Taycan is beautiful, luxurious, and surely handles better than the Model S. That’s great for car reviews but for everyday driving the Model S just makes more sense. You argue that the Taycan has enough power for routine driving but one can counter the Model S has sufficient handling prowess for everyday driving. How many people routinely rip through curvy backroads? Probably the same number who routinely launch their cars. The Model S has far more interior space and storage space with a far bigger trunk. It can comfortably seat three adults in the back row. Those kind of things matter to prospective buyers. That’s in addition to the superior range and charging network. I also think it’s a toss-up as to which car is more reliable and dependable. Porsches are not known for stellar reliability not to mention they’re newer to the electric game than Tesla. Taycans are awesome but I just can’t see them, at least in current form, ever unseating Model S dominance in this segment.

@@Jak-ub3ds I don't know, maybe they're fine. I follow Nick Murray's channel and his experiences with new Porsches seem to be dreadful. Of course that's anecdotal. Even if they are historically reliable, this is a totally new type of powertrain for Porsche. At least Tesla has been mass producing these for 10 years.

Omar, thanks for sharing your review. IMO, I think Tesla has Porsche beat when it comes down to software & the charging network, which is extremely important. Also, the ride & regen is much better. The Taycan is a beautiful car & I love it. However, I compared the RWD & 4S against the Model 3 performance & the Model S LR 2023 & IMO, I thought Tesla drove better. Crazy to say that against a Porsche, but I think the Taycan was built to keep Porsche customers & of course get into the EV world! Happy New Yea! Salud 🥂

I would say, that considering the drivetrain, the placement of the gearselector is just right. Having it on the centerconsol would just look stupid and very impractical.

@@dar7279 It depends on what is important to you. If you are onto driving and blending the difference between the car and your body, it is Taycan. If you want to occasionally wank on acceleration (though the Model S Plaid is in reality very slow when driven on circuit) go with Model S Plaid.

I have both the Taycan 4s performance battery plus 2021 and a Tesla model s LR plus 2021. The Porsche drives much better. The Tesla fits kids and stuff much better. Both are Great cars.

This Taycan looks like a joke to me, cloth seats for 80k and option for leather 4k? 🤣 Problem with Porsche is battery, try it with a bit colder weather, some luggage and range will be shorter than model 3 standard range. Battery cooling tech (turbo s) is about 5 years behind new Model s plaid, Porsche is overheating after 50km of track, 750hp is only for few sec in launch... Talking about fun stuff, what tesla did in plaid to go from 800 to 1020hp is double the cooling system, add an extra motor with 20k rpm that is almost lossless on torque and they wiped the floor with competition. Porsche @150mph has about 60% of its torque while using that stupid hard to develop and heavy dual speed transmission, tesla is at 90% of its torque @150mph and can do more than 220mph as a result. Tesla is also much faster than Lucid air that is 1111hp and lighter so if Porsche made a taycan with 1020hp, it wouldn't be faster than tesla with this tech. But Tesla is more practical with more space and comfort, infotainment that makes the Porsche look old tech and all of the things already said in the vid. People who complain about handling forget that track package is coming for Model s but also that taycan is more of a sports car. 🏎 Also you forget that you get everything as standard in Model s, sound system that is probably better than Burmister, best materials in interior (no need to pay to get rid of plastic), glass roof etc. Anyone saying that tesla feels cheap (new model s) hasn't been in one, many people already said that materials are about equal (Marques) maby better in taycan with top equipment, Teslas build quality is getting better with newer units but still not as good (but it can be over 80k cheaper 😉). To each his own but there's no denying here that one car is objectively better than the other and why I find the title of this vid a bit ridiculous.

As long as you say it is a alternative, it is one thing. But, if range, and speed and over the top upgrades, and Tesla charging stations and auto pilot and cool factor are considered, there is no contest. Tesla destroys any body else by. Miles and years. This Porsche is for people who think the Porsche brand and dealer network and interior and exterior workmanship and materials are worth it. But when it comes to electrics, Tesla rules.

Park a Taycan and a Model S Plaid next to each other and see which car draws more attention. The Model S exterior design is so long in the tooth. If you live on either coast of the US, there isn't much difference between CCS and Tesla Supercharger Network. Nearly every current Model S and Model 3 will be sold or traded-in by the time FSD comes of Beta. If you get rear-ended, a Tesla is the last car you want to get serviced or collision work done on it. But hey, Tesla's are faster at the drag strip.

Cool factor goes to the Tesla??? 🤣 no way. I own a Porsche, and I was allowed to test a Tesla Model S for a week and there's no comparison on cool factor, Porsche by a long shot. Speed and charging speed, yes Tesla, but everything else.....Porsche.
