I just traded in my '21 RAM Limited Night Edition. $75K MSRP, I paid $61K 8 months ago. Just traded it for a '22 RAM TRX. $90K sticker, paid $80K and rolled the taxes. I loved my Night Edition, but the TRX is another level, especially inside. The air suspension is amazing, and I had ZERO complaints on the Limited. Fantastic truck.

I bought one of these with the Hemi V8 about a month ago and love it. Always look forward to driving it. MSRP was 77K, 74K after a couple of discounts. Got 4K more on my trade than I paid for it so not too bad a deal in this market. Truck has great tech. Nice iPhone app with remote start. Two things I wish it had are auto-folding mirrors when locked and a hold stop button for heavy traffic. Didn't know about a refresh mid 2022 until I read the comments... Hope it doesn't make me want it... lol

I’ve had this same truck ‘21 for three years now, no issues. I even bought the extended warranty, haven’t had to use it. The air suspension is a great upgrade, especially when hauling heavy loads.

Beautiful truck but if you're spending $80k you're going to want the V8 Hemi.. V6 eco diesel seems like a mismatched engine for this package. The person buying an $80k blacked out truck isn't the mpg penny pincher

Gorgeous vehicle! Love any package that gets rid of chrome (had blacktop package on previous Durango) .. For $80K you'd think it would have taken care of that snow on the roof for ya :p .. I was looking at something similar (not limited, either Rebel or Warlock.. but required Night edition) before I got the F150 Tremor.

Love the truck, but at almost 80k, I’m not sure it’s a good value. Not sure about the diesel either since I’ve never owned one. Is it reliable? Any extra maintenance with it over the hemi? How does this compare to the F150 hybrid in price, ride, mileage and features?

Ram’s ecodiesel is a decent powertrain, but there have been multiple reliability issues in the past. No real increase in maintenance besides adding DEF every 8-10k miles. IMO the Hemi is the better choice, the torque and fuel economy of the diesel is great but you just cant beat 400 naturally aspirated horsepower. The price jump of the diesel vs. the Hemi is not worth it - any cost savings at the pump will be spent on the initial price to upgrade to the diesel. The 5.7 hemi is tried and true, gets decent freeway mpg, and sounds great.

@@carguyeyedoc On the mark. The Diesel is more problem prone and the economics just don't pencil out. The Hemi, while thirsty if you put your foot in it, moves the 1500 with authority and is the motor to get.

1,338 LB's of Payload? Is that right? So, if five 200lb guys are in the crew cab heading to the jobsite that's 1,000LBS of payload right there. Am I right in thinking you'd be left with just 338lbs for gear/supplies in the bed/cab before your payload is maxed out? That seems crazy for a full-size truck with this big bed!

I see as in other reviews with these Rams. I dont see the split tail gate being advertised anymore..Even commercials dont advertise the split tail gate. Also I think by now 2022 there should be digital dash

The tailgate is still available. And I believe the digital dash will be added mid 2022. The Ram will be heavily refreshed mid 2022.(and adding the 3.0 I-6.) But it does have the HUD and camera mirror, both unavailable at Ford.

Again, love the video review. But I do have a question regarding the GT package, only because you mentioned it in your video about the GT being an in between say a Laramie 1500 and TRX. The GT comes with the air intake and exhaust but yet Ram still quotes 395 horsepower and 410 lb. ft. torque. You would think that with both of those it should jump at minimal to 400 to 405 lb. ft. of torque, even though there are no official specs. So why bring out a GT package. Now ,I did put the RamAir system from Mopar on my 2020 Longhorn and did notice a slight difference and a little better MPG even though I live in Pittsburgh PA. I plan at some point adding the Mopar exhaust, if for no other reason, the sound. I’m no mechanic or vehicle engineer by any means, but what’s up with that ?

@@BenHardyCars Disappointing. Since I’ve bought my 2020 Longhorn, a lot of people have asked me, do you like your Ram. My response is I love it. But to offer the GT package and not say hey, there’s more horsepower than the typical RM but les than a TRX. I’m willing to bet there’s quite a few people out there, loyal to the Ram brand that would love to see numbers. I fell in love with Rams back in 1999 and never looked back from there, even though I always kept an open mind when it comes to trucks. Maybe my passion for the Ram brand has made me blind. But if it’s really about the EPA, why make a TRX in the first place. Have a Happy New Year Ben. Look forward to future videos, you do an outstanding job.

@@BenHardyCars On a side note. I went to my Ram dealership today. For several months now, I’ve been looking for a filter for the RamAir intake. Finally got the right part number and had them order one for me. Figured I’d be able to find some info on the filter now that the GT package is out. The filter is gonna cost $ 170 plus tax. Somewhat of a sticker shock so to speak but worth it I believe. In any cold air intake I’ve had, there’s always been a filter to put in place while the other filter is being cleaned and dried. This way there’s no need to wait around a day or two while it dries. Many people like myself don’t have time to wait around in today’s society being so busy. I don’t have the part number yet since the dealership kept the order slip, but once I get it, I’ll pass it along to you so you can put it out on your channel. I have searched months for this part number and it looks like it’s finally come available as a part number itself.

Ram SAE-certifies the power ratings plus it would have to be retested by the EPA. Yes, freer-flowing exhaust and intake would add some type of power, plus judging by Ben's review of the GT, the throttle response seems better. GM also does something similar with the 6.2 by adding the Borla and CAI, but do not revise power ratings. Probably some type of legal carve out.

Lemoned my 2014 and 2016 RAM Limited for defective transmission. FCA bought both of them back. Lost a $hit ton a money on both. Go check the Ram and TRX forums, the drivelines still clunk since 1st released in 2013. Transmission programming is crap. Tech drove with me before they bought mine back. You can stop, truck will be in 3rd gear, then after a complete stop, slam into 1st gear. You can reset all parameters, but it always come back. Enjoy the HEMI tick on cold start with your 80K truck. Knock yourself out.

The factory installed tri-fold tonneau cover is a piece of crap. There are gaps that I can put my fingers into between the tailgate and the body of the truck. Those gaps let in water and snow.
