The snow piles do take a while to melt. The sand that is used on the roads gets mixed in with the snow, and as the snow melts it leaves behind a layer of sand on top that just keeps getting thicker. The layer of sand prevents warm air from melting the snow. Where I am, there's some snow dumping sites and eventually it appears to have all melted by the end of summer. But around mid October, you can dig through the leftover sand and find trace amounts of snow that's still there.

The rear tires being dragged 10:28 was a nice touch, didnt show how he took care of that or they were rims when they got to the tow yard. In Chicago they want you to clean the sidewalks in front of your location and dont have that cool sidewalk machine. Pretty soon they will want you to clean your own street.

hi, yes, I watched video of snow storm in Buffalo city, “the blizzard of the century,” it's terrible. I read news, and a 22 years old student died during the storm not far from home.RIP.. for those people who live at north and work night shift should prepare backup equipment., like portable booster, hand warmer, portable battery, food, water, sleeping bag in the car all the time..

Isn't "Lake Effect Snow" a skinny stretch ? I have a friend who lives just south of the area and he said it could be several feet different in snow Total.
@mooglemy3813 Жыл бұрын
@@keithscudder7136 it varies due to the two lakes affecting the area. You could drive west from Buffalo on I 90 towards Pennsylvania and the snow would be very little or non ahowing. Grass on the side of the 90 would be green in early Nov. Get to Erie PA and heavy snow again like Buffalo. They usually prepare well for this in Buffalo but the snowfall never cooperates no matter what preparations they take. Additional: the south shore of Lake Ontario gets what appears to be more snow. Syracuse NY can get 127 inches of snowfall. It's dependant on conditions but is usually high. Just thought I'd try and give you an idea of lake affect snow. It depends on the temperature of water in lake Erie and lake Ontario. FL always sounds like a good place to winter if you can.

The workers who walk along the sidewalks, infront of the snow blowers=== what is their purpose? Is it simply to stop people from being run over and chewed up in the snow blower? I have seen one of the walkers actually dig in the snowpile and throw garbage bags onto the sidewalk so they don't get chewed up but other than that they mostly just walk along. Edit @35:00 I see that the walker also is removing the temporary orange Snow Clearing No Parking signs that were put up before the snow clearing actually began.
